Review: Unicone Rainbow Swirl Maker

If you were to ask Eva and Megan what their three favourite things are, they would tell you unicorns, rainbows and sweet treats. So imagine a toy which could combine all three? That’s where the Unicone Rainbow Swirl Maker steps in!

The Unicone Rainbow Swirl Maker is the only unicorn-shaped chilled dessert maker and the perfect way to create tasty desserts or decorate cakes and cookies.

The Unicone set includes a Unicone Rainbow Swirl Maker, 1 bowl, 1 spatula, 2 measuring spoons, 1 sprinkles horn, 2 recipe cards, 1 dispenser, 2 reusable cone with 2 spoons – everything you need to get started, just add your ingredients!

We decided to decorate cakes which couldn’t have been easier. We bought pre-made designer icing and coloured it with a few drops of food colouring.

We chilled the icing in the bowl provided just to firm up the icing, you can also do this if you are making chilled desserts.

We then loaded the dispenser with the icing, layering the alternate colours using the spatula and spoon provided. It was really easy, even for a four year old.

One the unicorns horn was loaded with hundreds and thousands we were ready to go!

You simply place your cake or cookie on the base….

…and prepare for the magic to happen!

By pushing down on the dispenser the icing begins to swirl out in rainbow colours!

And you can add as much or as little icing as you like, in our case the more the merrier!

You can then use the sprinkler to decorate your cake which is always the fun part.

We also added some extra decorations for some added bling!

And then the best part….eating it!!

The girls absolutely loved using the Unicone Rainbow Swirl Maker, it was fun, allowed them to be creative, and made the task of icing so much easier! I’m definitely not very skilled with an icing bag so it was nice to have a fun, but easy way, to do it for us!

Currently on offer at £14.99 at Smyths this is a fantastic Christmas present for all budding bakers or unicorn mad children! We will definitely be decorating our Christmas muffins with the Unicone and trying out some of the chilled mousses and frosting ideas!

That looks pretty awesome and is on my daughters Christmas list. It’s good to see it in action. I’m not usually a fan of things like this as they always seem to be a bit pants. This looks pretty good though 🙂
