The perfect gift from Popsa

Before I go any further – Mum, if you’re reading this (which I’m sure you are as my biggest fan, haha!), step away from the iPad, go and enjoy the sunshine, have a dip in the pool and seriously, STOP RIGHT THERE!!!

I have mentioned before that since my parents retired they love to travel, and rightly so. They spent their whole lives working hard to provide for my brother and I, and they were there for us, every single day without fail, whenever we needed them. They would always go without so that we could have everything, not just as children but as adults too, and to see them enjoying their retirement means the world to me.

The only downside to them travelling is that they miss the children terribly, despite the fact that we call and skype whenever they are away. Although when they are home we see them pretty much every day, I know that during the Summer, when they away for weeks on end, they really do miss that.

For that reason I thought that this year we would surprise them with a photo book of their favourite photos of the children, that they can slip into their suitcase or pack in their motorhome, to pull out on their travels and see those four little faces whenever they are feeling homesick.

When I was asked to work with Popsa, an online ordering service to create beautiful photo books, it was the perfect opportunity to create their gift. Unlike other photo books sites which take forever to create, and can leave me wanting to smash up my laptop in frustration, Popsa allows you to create a photo book, on a mobile device using photos from your phone, Facebook or Dropbox, all in just five minutes.

Even for those of us who aren’t the most technically minded, it’s so easy to do. Simply download the free app onto your mobile device and choose which style of photobook you would like to create. With prices starting at just £6.99 it’s so affordable and each book can be personalised to suit your needs.

You can even choose the colour scheme for your book, choosing low key pastel shades, gorgeous vivid colours or even something a little bit different to mark a special occasion.

Once you have selected your photos, for optimised speed and ease of use, Popsa automatically selects the best layout based on the dates, locations and dimensions of your chosen photos. Of course you can re-arrange your photos as you wish, but I found the suggest layout was perfect!

You can then add a title, or a personal message, enter your payment details and that’s the entire process, done in just a few minutes!

When our book was delivered I wasn’t disappointed. Popsa uses the finest 200gsm paper and state-of-the-art HD printers to ensure the highest standards of quality regardless of location, and that definitely showed. We chose a large hard backed book and I was so impressed with the quality of not only the book but just how lovely my images looked too.

Available in 38 countries worldwide, translated in 10 languages, Popsa has fast become my favourite app and we are very fortunate to have a years subscription to continue to share our memories. With Popsa unlimited you can pay for 1, 3, 12 or 24 months upfront, order as many photo books as you like and only ever pay for postage! For those who like to create a lot of photo books it’s an absolute bargain!

Popsa have kindly offered my lovely readers 50% off all orders placed until the end of this year simply by entering FIVELITTLEDOVES at the check-out. With photobooks typically dispatched within 48 hours, there’s still plenty of time to buy them for someone special this Christmas. I know that my parents are going to be over the moon when the children present them with their book on Christmas day.

P.S Mum, if you carried on reading when I told you to stop, you better get practicing your surprised face for Christmas morning!!!

I love thise idea, I use freeprints to print out my favourite photos and then I stick them in a scrapbook but that’s because I love the hands on part. This would be so good for a quick easy way of making an album!

It’s a wonderful idea, I’ll check out this service. In our family the grandparents – from my husband’s side- are moving to the countryside for the whole summer (from around March until October) to grow veggies and fruits on their farm. This means joy for them but they are also sad because of not seeing their grandchildren. For Xmas I made them a calendar with the best pics of the little ones together, so they can have a feel that they are always around them.

My boss makes two of these photobooks a year just to chart everything him & the kids get up to. It’s going to be amazing for them to look back together one day when they’re older. I think the art of photobooks got lost a bit in the digital age but there’s nothing like flicking through a classic photo album with your family.
