Designing our own onesies with The All-in-One Company ** WIN **
This last year, more than any other, we have spent so many days at home in our comfiest pyjamas, loungewear or onesies. Throughout lock down there were times we didn’t wear proper clothes for days, when the kids would run around the garden in their pj’s and Gaz and I would relish the elasticated waists of our loungewear. And although life has definitely started to go back to normal in many respects, lazing around in our comfiest clothing is something we aren’t letting go of in a hurry! So when The All-in-One Company offered the children the chance to create their own personalised onesies, they literally jumped at the chance!
The All-in-One Company was founded in 2004 by Mum Kate who needed something snuggly to keep her three year old daughter warm. Having seen a real gap on the high street she decided to create not just a onesie, but a onesie which could be personalised in colour, size, fabric and accessories, so that is exactly what she created! The All-in-One company website is amazing, it literally allows you to create a 3D version of your chosen onesie which the children just thought was the most amazing thing they’d ever heard of!
Throughout the whole process there is a handy “chat with us” feature should you need any help, but the process is very straight forward. You choose your size from adult to baby, your fabric, your colours and designs, pockets, zips, cuffs, and then the fun part of your accessories. You can add detachable or attached mittens and feet, a hood with a choice of ears and even a tail, and then personalised embroidery and embossed images. Obviously each additional amendment comes at an added fee but the great thing is that you can choose a standard onesie at a lower price or go all out and add everything available for a higher price depending on your budget.I loved seeing the children create their onesies and also how individual each of their choices were. Once we had ordered it took a couple of weeks for delivery but when they arrived the children were literally bouncing off the walls with excitement. I think at that age seeing something you designed yourself actually right there in front of you is really special! I was completely blown away by the quality of the onesies, the softness of the fabric and how they were exact replicas of the children’s designs.
As soon as Megan put her onesie on she told us, “I’m never taking this off!” and declared it the warmest, cosiest onesie she had ever come across. I have to admit, I think she’s right! Megan is obsessed with monkeys so was happy to see the embroidery she had chosen “Meg the monkey” on the front of her onesie. She also chose a little monkey image too which was beautifully done.
I love how every single part of the onesie has been made to the highest standard of quality and where the fabrics met it was completely seamless. Even down to the ruching detail on the tail itself, the attention to detail is outstanding. Megan was so excited about the monkey tail, it was such a fun addition to her onesie and unlike any onesie we have ever seen on the high street.
Eva took the longest to design her onesie, using her artistic flair to try out different colour and fabrics before she made her final decision. She went for more of a pastel design with pale blue, lilac and pink and the finished result was really impressive! As soon as she saw it her whole face lit up and she couldn’t put it on quick enough!
For the embroidery on the front of her onesie Eva went with her nickname we call her, “Slothy McSloth Face” which she was delighted about. Even better, she chose a sloth from the logos on the website and was over the moon to see her favourite ever animal right there on her design.
Both of the girls went for the extended cuffs with a thumb hole to keep their hands nice and warm but their fingers free. I love this style of cuff but for those who prefer a regular cuff, an elasticated hem or even attached or detachable mittens, there are options to suit everyone.
There’s also several options for pockets with full front pockets, side pockets and even chest pockets. Eva went for a front pocket with two way access which looks great and as with the rest of the onesie, was beautifully done.
And lastly was Harry’s onesie and if I had to choose, my favourite design of the three (don’t tell the girls!). I love that he fully embraced his love of dinosaurs and went for rainbow spikes and a tail to really create something fun and unique. The hoods on all three onesies were such a great choice, I originally thought they wouldn’t really be necessary but they literally wear the hood up every single time they wear them so I’d definitely recommend adding them on.
The fabric Harry chose for his dinosaur spikes is amazing and a nod to his love of rainbows. I love how each piece is perfectly sewn and having already washed their onesies several times already, they wash and dry like new. Although all of the available fabrics look lovely, all three of our children chose fleece and I do think when it comes to onesies, fleece is the perfect choice.
If your children like expressing their style and individuality then The All-in-One Company is just perfect for that. It really allows them to embrace the things they love the most, be that monkeys, sloths or dinosaur. Older children may prefer to choose something more neutral or concentrate on style over fun, but that’s the great thing about the design process, you really can create something totally unique.
For those who prefer to buy a ready made onesie, there are plenty of options on the website to choose from babies to maternity to plus size. There are even onesies ready made for all family members, limited edition versions and sensory designs too. You can find all of the onesies and the create your own onesie tool here at www.the-all-in-one-company.co.uk. Plus, with the success of their company here in the UK they have now gone global! For those outside of the UK you can check them out here www.allinonecompany.com.
