Easter fun with Jumanji: The Next Level
With Jumanji: The Next Level out now on digital, Blu Ray and DVD, we were very kindly sent a box of goodies to enjoy this Easter and take part a Jumanji themed Easter egg hunt! We’ve been big fans of Jumanji since we saw the first film and have been excitedly anticipating Jumanji: The Next Level having hard such positive reviews.
Jumanji: The Next Level catches up with Spencer (Alex Wolff), Fridge (Ser’Darius Blain), Martha (Morgan Turner) and Bethany (Madison Iseman) three years after their first adventure in Jumanji’s mystical video game world. When Spencer goes missing inside the game ahead of the group’s planned reunion from college, his friends, along with his grandfather (Danny DeVito) and his grandfather’s friend (Danny Glover), once again inhabit the avatars of Dr. Bravestone (Dwayne Johnson), “Mouse” Finbar (Kevin Hart), Professor Sheldon Oberon (Jack Black) and Ruby Roundhouse (Karen Gillan) to rescue him. As they return to Jumanji, they discover that nothing is as they expect. With more action and surprises, the players will have to brave parts unknown and unexplored, from the arid deserts to the snowy mountains, in order to escape.
What the children didn’t know is that in order to watch Jumani: The Next Level, first they had to complete some fun tasks, collect the hidden eggs with our clues, and only then discover their Blu Ray copy to enjoy!
Their first task was to complete a fun maze, watching out for Mandrills along the way! They also loved learning some fun facts about Jumanji wildlife, such as how snakes use their tongues to smell! Who knew?
Their next task was to enjoy some colouring, spot the difference and link the players to their avatars, all of which they really enjoyed doing. I loved how every talk built the anticipation for the film, I found myself wishing they would hurry along so we could start watching!
Our final task was to find our Easter eggs and Jumanj: The Next Level on Blu Ray, helped by the clues we had shared with the children. For every egg the children found they could log with a Jumanji sticker in their task book!
It was lovely to see how excited the children were to hunt for their eggs, particularly during lockdown when we had worried that Easter may not be quite as special compared to other years. It turns out Easter egg hunts are fun no matter where you are and these children of mine can sniff out chocolate a mile off!
The last clue led the children indoors where they were delighted to discover our Blu Ray of Jumaji: The Next Level. Before even so much as eating one single chocolate egg they had the television on and the film ready to play, and all six of us sat down together to enjoy it.
Jumanji: The Next Level kept us on the edge of our seats throughout, made us laugh, kept us in suspense and was an all round entertaining, fun, family film. I’m sure we’ll be watching it more than once throughout lock down, especially if there’s popcorn involved, and so if you’re looking for a film to keep the kids entertained then this one gets a big thumbs up from us!
