Last minute gift guide for all the family ** WIN **

How is it possible that we have just six days until Christmas?? I don’t know about you but after feeling so smug that I was all organised this year, I’m realising this week that I am literally the most unorganised I have ever been! It’s alway the way when you get all of the presents out from those hiding places, you inevitably realise at the eleventh hour you’ve forgotten something, or more importantly someone!!

I’ve put together a last minute gift guide for all the family. Here’s hoping it helps!

Teens are hard to buy for, especially when it comes to lower value presents as stocking fillers or, what I class as, “something to open”. Debenhams have some fab gifts for teens this year such as this [1] Krispy Creme Milkshake Set (£12.50) and [2] Pacman Mug (£12). Many of their gifts, like this Retro Pocket Arcade Game, are on the 3 for 2 offer so you can stock up on stocking fillers without spending a fortune!

By now I have the majority of the children’s presents sorted but there are things they have randomly popped on their list, or asked Father Christmas for on our visit, that I have literally never heard them mention until now! Harry has asked for a night light having developed a little fear of the dark, and this [4] Lumie Bedbug which offers adjustable white light with the most amazing sunset feature to provide a gentle transition from day to nighttime.

You can let the sunset fade to complete darkness or use the nightlight feature to provide a reassuring orange glow throughout the night. Not only is it super practical and recommended by Sarah Ockwell-Smith, parenting expert and author of the bestselling ‘The Gentle Sleep Book’, but it’s also super cute too!

If like mine, your children have recently seen Wreck it Ralph 2, then I’m sure there will be lots of related toys on their gift list this year! My girls are desperate for the [6] Disney Store Vanellope Talking Action Figure featuring true-to-character details and speaking 18 iconic phrases from the film. With posable arms and legs, she is utterly adorable and at £30 a lovely present for Disney mad kids!

I am always guilty of forgetting to buy stocking fillers until the last minute but thanks to I have [9] Gelli Baff and Slime Baff which the kids will go crazy for! Gelli Baff and Slime Baff are fantastic products for turning bath time into an exciting and unique experience and are both 100% safe on skin, manufactured in the UK, stain free (phew!) and can be drained away and disposed of easily.

When it comes to kids there is nothing they love more than slime and goo and these are the perfect stocking filler for any age. Infact, I’d quite like to try a slime bath myself!!

Dad’s are hard to buy for, never more than last minute! Wolf have this [3] Blake coin tray which is perfect for travelling, or using at home, and keeps your essentials all in one place. With a gorgeous brown ultra suede lining it’s the perfect gift for stylish Dads!

As a Mum myself I would love to see these gorgeous boots from [7] Jones Bootmaker under the tree on Christmas morning! The Kate Leather Riding Boot are available in both black and navy in an iconic riding boot design. Made with smooth leather and studded with metallic embellishments, they feature a padded lining for a cushioned fit and a full length zip to make getting them on that little bit easier!

Available in sizes 4-7 they are currently on offer at £109 and it’s the perfect time to buy them – or just to drop hints to your other half that actually, you’d quite like them for yourself!

For those who are young at heart there is no better gift than the [5]  Mary Poppins Practically Perfect umbrella from Paladone! With ‘Practically Perfect in every way’ written across the top, it’s the most amazing gift for fans of the Walt Disney film, and a chance to feel just like Mary Poppins when it’s raining! With the release of Mary Poppins Returns, it’s the perfect time to treat someone you love to this full sized umbrella with a gorgeous parrot head handle that will leave you the envy of every Disney fan out there! Priced at £15 it’s an absolute steal!

All of that Christmas shopping is hard work and I think it’s only fair to reward yourself with a little treat at the end of it. Debenhams have brought back the [9] personalised Nutella jars where you can have any name printed onto your very own jar of Nutella. With Christmas being all about the time to indulge, it’s only right to stock up for the festive season. Does it get any better than Nutella on croissants on Christmas morning?

We are offering one lucky winner the chance to win a Disney Store talking Vanellope doll RRP £30 simply by following the link below. One winner will be chosen at random and notified via email at close of competition on Sunday 30th December. Good luck!

Foodie gifts go down well but I don’t mean chocolates or sweets but maybe an extra special individual Christmas pudding or cake, or some nicely packaged jams or pickled onions either, if you know the person likes them!

Always give money…not vouchers and explain that you would have got them some for a really obscure shop but thought better of it – the relief and the fact they have something to spend in the sales always makes it worth it!

Use the click and collect options that way you know what is in stock and won’t be disappointed. If you don’t shop online try looking in stores like B&M, Home Bargains or poundstretcher for so many gift idea’s. If buying a gift voucher then Love to shop is a good one as it is accepted in so many outlets.

  29. Nikki Stewart
    December 20, 2018 / 4:29 pm

Gift Vouchers are always a great idea, it’s tempting just to grab anything if you’re rushing last minute but don’t waste your money buying something just for the sake of it!

Amazon prime has saved my bacon (so to speak) a number of times so if its major rush for delivery – use Prime on amazon.

  38. Ursula Hunt
    December 21, 2018 / 7:01 am

A quick visit to the gift aisle of the local 24 hour supermarket is always a great place for little gifts

  39. Katrina Adams
    December 21, 2018 / 7:59 am

Don’t overspend – it’s really easy in the last minute rush to overspend so keep a budget in mind and don’t get just because!

  40. Arabella Bazley
    December 21, 2018 / 10:19 pm

It’s easy to overspend if you are in a rush so if you are shopping online, use the search tools to limit the cost of anything they show you. Another trick is to always have a few “general” presents wrapped in neutral wrapping paper with a sticky note saying what they are so if you are caught out you can pull something from the cupboard without breaking a sweat.

  41. Sarah Roberts
    December 22, 2018 / 1:33 am

Start early, shop from the sales and try not to stress yourself out!

  45. Jade Hewlett

  46. Lorna Ledger
    December 23, 2018 / 6:25 pm

E-gifts can be very last minute – to make it a bit more personal, sites such as Red Letter days and Virgin days have great gift experiences – like Spa Days

  47. Violet Phillippo
    December 23, 2018 / 11:18 pm

Make a good list, as it’s so easy to get carried away!

  48. Angie McDonald
    December 24, 2018 / 1:24 am

Check websites like Amazon prime for next day delivery, the Argos website for instant collection from some stores and always keep gift bags handy if you won’t have time to wrap a last minute gift!

  49. Gemma Middleton
    December 24, 2018 / 3:39 pm

Supermarkets do a great range these days so i would just pop to a supermarket and grab last minute gifts from there.

    December 27, 2018 / 8:44 pm

For a last minute gift, a wallet card containing money is nice so try to remember to get a stack in for “just in case” and you could attach this to a selection box as everyone likes chocolate no matter their age and even the corner shop will stock these if you have to rush out!!

Go to your small independent shops, your supporting local business as well as usually finding quite cool gifts.

  69. Dee Gillespie
    December 28, 2018 / 6:23 am

I keep a box of gifts which I stock up throughout the year and put things like games and toys for kids, jewellery, toiletries etc. I buy a lot of them in the January sales and then if an unexpected birthday or last minute gift is needed I usually have something in my box I can use. I try to buy in 50% to 70% sales so get some good bargains and that also means that the person who is getting the gift gets a much nicer gift for the money spent.

  70. Alison
    December 28, 2018 / 8:47 am

Sometimes the best finds are the last minute ones as most of the shops seem to start their sales before Christmas. This year found some great last minute pressies for bargain prices in Sainsbury’s and TKMaxx.
