How is it possible that we have just six days until Christmas?? I don’t know about you but after feeling so smug that I was all organised this year, I’m realising this week that I am literally the most unorganised I have ever been! It’s alway the way when you get all of the presents out from those hiding places, you inevitably realise at the eleventh hour you’ve forgotten something, or more importantly someone!!
I’ve put together a last minute gift guide for all the family. Here’s hoping it helps!
FOR TEENS
Teens are hard to buy for, especially when it comes to lower value presents as stocking fillers or, what I class as, “something to open”. Debenhams have some fab gifts for teens this year such as this [1] Krispy Creme Milkshake Set (£12.50) and [2] Pacman Mug (£12). Many of their gifts, like this Retro Pocket Arcade Game, are on the 3 for 2 offer so you can stock up on stocking fillers without spending a fortune!
FOR KIDS
By now I have the majority of the children’s presents sorted but there are things they have randomly popped on their list, or asked Father Christmas for on our visit, that I have literally never heard them mention until now! Foodie gifts go down well but I don’t mean chocolates or sweets but maybe an extra special individual Christmas pudding or cake, or some nicely packaged jams or pickled onions either, if you know the person likes them!

Gift vouchers are always a good idea.
My advice is if you’re stuck as to what to buy someone is to buy M&S vouchers.
TKMaxx, never fail to get fixed up in there, very individual gifts and a bargain!
I have a box in the cupboard with general gifts for all ages just incase I forget someone and the shops are shut
Always give money…not vouchers and explain that you would have got them some for a really obscure shop but thought better of it – the relief and the fact they have something to spend in the sales always makes it worth it!

Amazon prime is a lifesaver, and always having a little stash of gifts hidden away that you can dip in to it if you need something
You can get some ‘novelty’ and fun cheap gifts at bargain and pound stores etc.
You cant go wrong with biscuits and chocolate, but the best tip is make sure you have everything well before christmas.
Use the click and collect options that way you know what is in stock and won’t be disappointed. If you don’t shop online try looking in stores like B&M, Home Bargains or poundstretcher for so many gift idea’s. If buying a gift voucher then Love to shop is a good one as it is accepted in so many outlets.

Gift Vouchers are always a great idea, it’s tempting just to grab anything if you’re rushing last minute but don’t waste your money buying something just for the sake of it!

I end up buying vouchers! I leave it too late as I work in retail and work far too much at Christmas time. I take a day off to go shopping and then end up not finding anything 😂

Amazon prime has saved my bacon (so to speak) a number of times so if its major rush for delivery – use Prime on amazon.
A quick visit to the gift aisle of the local 24 hour supermarket is always a great place for little gifts
Don’t overspend – it’s really easy in the last minute rush to overspend so keep a budget in mind and don’t get just because!
It’s easy to overspend if you are in a rush so if you are shopping online, use the search tools to limit the cost of anything they show you. Another trick is to always have a few “general” presents wrapped in neutral wrapping paper with a sticky note saying what they are so if you are caught out you can pull something from the cupboard without breaking a sweat.
Start early, shop from the sales and try not to stress yourself out!

Go with something that means something either to you or them, it could be a piece of jewlery that speaks to them or a homemade gift that you have spent the time and effort making and organising

Check websites like Amazon prime for next day delivery, the Argos website for instant collection from some stores and always keep gift bags handy if you won’t have time to wrap a last minute gift!
Supermarkets do a great range these days so i would just pop to a supermarket and grab last minute gifts from there.

A wander down to town on Christmas eve! I usually make sure I order online for Christmas delivery if I can!! I also, if I have stuff lying about I think others might like, give stuff I already have away for Christmas!! A little naughty, but saves me a bit!!

Go to your small independent shops, your supporting local business as well as usually finding quite cool gifts.
I keep a box of gifts which I stock up throughout the year and put things like games and toys for kids, jewellery, toiletries etc. I buy a lot of them in the January sales and then if an unexpected birthday or last minute gift is needed I usually have something in my box I can use. I try to buy in 50% to 70% sales so get some good bargains and that also means that the person who is getting the gift gets a much nicer gift for the money spent.
Sometimes the best finds are the last minute ones as most of the shops seem to start their sales before Christmas. This year found some great last minute pressies for bargain prices in Sainsbury’s and TKMaxx.
Gift Voucher. Even if it is for a supermarket. As it’ll save them some pennies for something they would buy anyway.
Shop on Amazon, they sell everything. Also, they have next day delivery available for most items.

Magazine subscriptions are always a great last minute gift if someone has a hobby or particular one they enjoy – sometimes people cant justify buying themselves a mag for £3-4 when they are broke but a subscription is usually half the price of buying the mags separately and it keeps giving throughout the year

I have a cupboard filled with raffle prizes and I buy kids toys when they are on sale and have them there…just in case. My sons are always invited to friends parties at the last minute so it really helps to have things there.
