I can remember as a child, in the
weeks months leading up to Christmas, how me and my brother would lie on the floor, felt tip pens in our hands, circling every single thing we wanted from the big pile of catalogues stored under the stairs. I still remember that agonising decision over what to put on my list, the biggest decision I had made all year, whether to ask for Pop Star Sindy or Hair Salon Barbie…
And my children are no different.
From the minute that the Smyths catalogue came through our door last week, the children quite literally haven’t put it down. In fact within seconds of snatching it up, all three of the youngest had taken a pen and were already circling the many, many, toys which they would like for Christmas this year.
The girls were so excited to go through it, page by page, telling each other about all of the amazing things Father Christmas would be bringing this year.
But not quite as happy when I reminded them that Father Christmas has limited funds and can’t bring everything from the catalogue!!
After much deliberation, Eva announced that she had made up her mind and would like a Glitter Garden Hatchimal, just to add to her collection of regular Hatchimals.
Megan would like a Kiddizoom Duo Camera so that she can take photos just like mummy!
And I didn’t even need to ask Harry what he would like, as he has been telling me for the last six weeks on repeat……a Paw Patrol Look Out Tower!
When I told the children that Father Christmas only brought presents for very well behaved boys and girls they couldn’t wait to show me just how good they could be, something I will be taking full advantage of from now until Christmas!
You can request a copy of the Smyths catalogue via their website so that when the time comes to start your Christmas shopping, you might just have a list as long as mine!!
