Earlier this year I was lucky enough to receive a Memory Keepers Locket from Lily Blanche which I have loved wearing ever since. For those new to Lily Blanche, this family led business was founded by Gillian Crawford and named after her grandmother, born in 1903, who lived the most extraordinary life travelling India with her children. Gillian has fond childhood memories of her Grandmother and how she would rummage through her jewellery box to find beautiful and exotic pieces which she went on to use as inspiration for her collection at Lily Blanche.
Just when I thought that the Lily Blanche collection couldn’t get any more beautiful, or indeed any more unique, the new birthstone charm necklaces were released and they are every bit as gorgeous as I anticipated them to be! The hardest decision was choosing which of the twelve gemstones to go for….
After a lot of thought I decided that with having lots of personalised jewellery for the children, the only one I was really missing was something especially for Eva and, possibly swayed by my love of amethyst, the February gemstone tied in perfectly with her birthday. I have always adored amethyst and when I opened my necklace I couldn’t believe just how beautiful it was. Whilst at times it appears a deep purple, rich in colour and stunning against the silver chain, in other lights it appears to be far lighter, almost lilac in tone, and it sparkles beautifully every time it hits the light.
Available in a choice of three finishes and a four lengths of chain, I went with the silver and even added in an initial charm to personalise my necklace further. Alone or with the extra charm, I’m sure you will agree that it looks stunning and as always, was presented beautifully.
I love that amethyst symbolises friendship, love and compassion, something we have all needed more than ever this year, making it the perfect choice to remember 2020 and the lessons we have learned along the way. Eva was over the moon to see my necklace and politely told me that just as soon as she is old enough to wear it herself, she will be stealing it from me!
