Christmas gift ideas for young children
I always think that it’s far too easy to buy for young children, there are so many lovely toys out there, and I think the real difficulty is knowing when to stop! I could go into any shop between now and Christmas and see at least ten items that I know my children will love, although with the playroom already overflowing with toys, I am trying my hardest to stick to the list this year! I thought that I would share some of my favourites this year, some of which might just make it down the chimney on Christmas Eve.

1. Samsonite Frozen Backpack.
Samsonite do a great range of quality Disney luggage aimed at children, including suitcases, backpacks and wallets. With two Frozen mad daughters, anything with Elsa and Anna is a winner in our house, although with Harrys penchant for bags, I think this will come at the top of his list! I have always been so impressed with the durability of Samsonite, watch out for our review coming soon!
2. Bosch Workbench
Harry has been desperate for a work bench for the last few months and this one by Bosch was by the far the best that we found. With 79 accessories, including a battery operated power drill (that’s going to be lethal!), this is the perfect toy for allowing your little ones to use their imaginations and get to work! Currently on sale at Smyths for £39.99.
3. Debenhams Unicorn Robes
From Bluezoo’s fantastic range of children’s clothing, this dressing gown is perfect for introducing magical prints to a girl’s nightwear collection. In a pretty shade of lilac, this super-soft piece features a cute and colourful unicorn and rainbow. Available in sizes 12-18 months to 13-14 years, £20 – £22. For more information visit Debenhams.
4. Twirlywoos Big Red Boat
As seen on Cbeebies, the Twirlywoos Big Red Boat is the perfect gift for any child. The boat has been designed to combine developmental learning with imaginative play, with fun sounds, songs, flashing lights and activities galore! Best price £26.99 available from Amazon.
5. Hatchimals
This years must have toy, Hatchimals are magical creatures that live inside of eggs. Each egg contains one of two interactive Hatchimals which will hatch, by themselves, for a once in a lifetime experience. Teach yours to walk, talk, dance, play games and more! It will even repeat what you say in its own voice!
With Hatchimals selling out across the country, and this being on the top of Eva’s wish list, I have been using the website www.stockinformer.co.uk for up-to-date stock checks. RRP £59.99.
6. Toddlebike 2
We love the Toddlebike2, suitable from 18 months, the perfect bike for children who are too big for baby ride-on toys but not quite big enough for a pedal bike or scooter. Weighing less than 1kg, it is so easy for young children to ride, manoeuvre, carry or hang neatly on buggy when not in use. For more information visit Toddlebike RRP £23.95.
7. Kidcraft Country Estate Dolls House.
This really is the most amazing dolls house, the kind of toy that would last any child right up until they have grown out of toys altogether. With 11 rooms over 4 floors, 20 detailed furniture pieces and a working elevator, accommodating dolls up to 30cm tall, this really is a childs dream home! Available at Smyths £169.99
8. Tomy Remote Control Rescue Boat
Enjoy fun water adventures with Tomy Remote Control Rescue Boat, featuring Captain Cat who is ready for any rescue mission that comes his way with his trusty red and yellow boat. Sail the wavy waters when in the bath tub or pool by pressing the one button sound activated remote control. £17.99 at Toys R Us
9. Mr Tumble with Fun Sounds Tumble Tap
Mr Tumble holds his Tumble Tapp and when each of the 5 different icons is pressed, this activates some of Mr Tumble’s favourite sounds and phrases from the show. Mr Tumble also features 2 songs for little ones to sing along to and watch as his nose magically lights up at the same time! Approx. size 29cm (sitting) Suitable for children from 10 months, £29.99 available at www.goldenbeartoys.com.
I hope you have enjoyed my Christmas gift guide, look out for more gift guides this week!!

Oh I so agree with you about knowing when to stop. When T was younger, we used to get carried away too, especially since she’s an only child. But not anymore 😉 Lovely ideas btw. x

Yes! We did the same with Lewis but now with four it’s a case of knowing that there is always a limit! I make the mistake every year of buying everything early and then getting caught up in the pre-Christmas sales! This year I shall be avoiding the shops once I am done! xx
I love the Debenhams unicorn robes and what a gorgeous colour as well. These are some great gift ideas.

A great choice, I’ve heard Hatchimals are the must have toy this Christmas. Darcey would love the bath toy.

They are like gold dust!! Impossible to get hold of, I’ve had to get on Google translate to get one from Amazon Germany! xx
Some lovely ideas here……..I wouldn’t bother with a hatchimal though, they are great whilst they are hatching but ours is ignored on the shelf now
Kara recently posted…Happy #FrugiFamily Christmas
Kara, everyone has said the same but Eva is DESPERATE for one. She literally does not stop talking about it, watches them on YouTube, draws pictures of them, it’s all she can think about!! I’m hoping it’s a sign that she will play with it but then it’s always the case that their favourite toy at Christmas is the crappiest thing you picked up in the pound shop! xx
My two have been asking me none stop for a hatchimal and I think they would really love that dolls house

My daughter is OBSESSED with them, she watches them on YouTube and talks about them constantly, she told me her life would be over if she didn’t have one – and she is four!! Thank god I have got one, MY life would be over if I didn’t!!! xx
So many sweet little gifts here. I miss mine being little and buying toys like these for them.

To be honest the reviews I’ve read they are pretty much a furby in an egg, but the kids have gone crazy for them! I’ve lost sleep over getting my hands on one!! xx
My daughter would want all of these. However she hasn’t mentioned a hatchimal yet much to my amazement. I’m very pleased since their sold out everywhere. X

My daughter hadn’t mentioned them until recently, and now that is ALL she talks about!!! Thank god I got one from Germany, I have no idea what we would have done otherwise! xx
I find it much harder to buy for my girls now that they are older. I love these ideas for little kids though – the remore control boat is the best! 🙂
It’s so easy to buy for little ones isn’t it! I really struggle with my eldest, at almost 13 he still wants surprises but has no real suggestions of his own! xx
I have just won a Toddlebike recently and I have put it away for Christmas for my 2-year-old, they look fab. I am exactly the same as you I keep seeing so many lovely toys for my little two but I have to stop myself buying them as we have so many already.xx
