* WIN * Managing screen time with The Den from TechDen

I recently shared how, before I had the kids, I always said my kids would never have tablets and all screen time would be strictly limited. Of course, four kids later, things change and, although my children certainly don’t sit on their tablets all day long, if I let them they may well do just that!!

I was recently introduced to the The Den by TechDen and we absolutely loved the idea! It’s basically a den (but with lots of technical features) to lock away phones and tablets when they’re not in use, keeping them out of sight and out of mind so you as a family can focus on quality time together. And for me, as a blogger who spends a great deal of my life online, it couldn’t actually be more welcome!

Not only does The Den allow you to use an app to “lock away” devices between certain hours but it also charges your devices whilst in the den – genius! This is also great if you have children like mine who have zero patience when it comes to waiting for their tablets to charge, feel the need to check them every 30 seconds and ultimately go through an disconnect/reconnect cycle every 2 minutes until I lose the plot and ban them for the next week….and breathe!!!

The Den is also a great way of giving kids an incentive to earn their screen time, be that by fulfilling their chores, doing their homework, or displaying better behaviour. I know in our house screen time is seen as a treat, usually saved for the weekend, and “unlocking” that treat is a real part of the excitement!

And it’s not just our family this has worked for, it’s literally thousands of families who are finding positive results from using the The Den, seeing their children’s concentration improve, their emotional wellbeing grow, changes in behaviour and in motivation, and so many more benefits together. And also for me, locking away my phone, forgetting about work, ignoring the fact that my inbox is filling or my notifications will be going wild, I can just focus on my family and on living in the moment, and that’s so important for adults too!

We are giving away The Den, RRP £103 simply by entering via the link below. One winner will be chosen at random and notified via email at close of giveaway on 27th February. Good luck!

  2. I would love to win to manage the kids screen time better without the constant rows and pleading

  3. My two granddaughters have melt downs when their iPads are taken from them. This will be an understandable way of rationing their screen time.

  4. I have 3 children so as you can imagine the bickering of chargers is unreal plus we can establish a good no tablet/phones before bed and I know they will stick to it

  5. My kids definitely need less screen time when we’re eating together at home. I hate the fact they’re on their phones all the time and a device like this would definitely help implement the rules we have over the dinner table. It stops temptation and will allow us to make conversation again. I just never knew such device existed until now.

  6. It’s a great idea although there is many a time where I think a better alternative would be to make a secure lockable soundproof den to put my grandson in and charge his devices up in the room with the normal charger

  7. my kids spend far too much time on their phones so this would be perfect for them, and i might get them to do some house work in the process

  8. I think me and my other half are guilty of being on phones too much and its hard for me to enforce less screen rime on my son when I’m just as attached. This would be ideal as we would all have to comply and it will bring us closer as a family.

  9. This is a great idea! We have so many problems with the boys. The other night they got up and went back to bed and was there all night playing games. This would be great to have

  10. The children always have 2 hours of no screen time before bed but have been known to sneak their phones & tablets up to bed with them! This would help so much and it looks great!

  11. My grandchildren would really benefit from this – they spend far too much time on phones and tablets!

  12. I’d love to win as I think we are a family addicted to devices. It would be a brilliant way to wean us off the tech and spending more time together as a family. I also love the fact it charges devices too as my kids (and us parents) are constantly hoovering to see if it’s charged.

  13. This would be great at getting me to manage my time online better and stop it getting out of hand. What a great idea.
