As a child Lewis loved Playmobil and some of my favourite memories of the days when it was just he and I are of us lay on the rug in our old living room, surrounded by Playmobil, just lost in a world of imagination. When Eva, Megan and Harry came along I was so relieved to see that Playmobil was still going strong and even better, that the three of them loved it just as much as Lewis did.
When we were sent the Playmobil Summer Villa for review the children were ridiculously excited (as was I!) and with 210 pieces I was certain it was going to give us hours of fun building it!
The great thing about Playmobil, and the thing I am always grateful for, is that each set comes with clear, concise instructions which make assembling the sets as easy as possible. For us, building the sets is all part of the fun and I love that the children could more of less build it entirely by themselves with just a little help from me.
The Summer Villa is exactly what it says on the box – a fully furnished Summer Villa with the most fun and creative accessories to enjoy playing with. Our personal favourite are the Playmobil characters with interchangeable clothes and flip flops which makes for a lot of fun when acting out our Summer adventures.
In the kitchen you will find all of the regular fittings such as oven and sink, but also fun accessories such as plates and glasses, fruit bowls, food and a whole pantry stocked with tins and cartons, each with tiny little labels to show what’s inside.
The bathroom is amazing with a shower and bath, toilet, sink and a little vanity unit with a real reflective mirror. I love that Playmobil thinks pf everything, even as far as the toilet brush and toilet roll holder!
With opening shutters on the window the villa is very much in keeping with European villas the children are familiar with and this realism is another thing I love about Playmobil. With terracotta walls, plants and flowers, it’s very easy for the children to relate their play set to the villas they have seen on our travels and it always amazes them to spot the little details they remember for themselves.
Outdoors you can find a BBQ, lounge set, a veranda, staircase and more flowers and plants, all of which can be moved around and played with as a set or individually. I could sit and watch the children play with Playmobil all day long and listen to their conversations, I love how it really sparks their imagination!
Priced at £59.99 the Summer Villa is more expensive than some of the sets but it’s also a lot larger too. I love that siblings can play with the set together without any arguing or falling out, each having a figure to play with and a room to arrange, and really engaging in fun, imaginative play as a family. We are offering one lucky winner the chance to win the Summer Villa simply by entering via the link below. One winner will be chosen at random and notified via email at close of giveaway on 1st September. Good luck!
