Storage solutions from Songmics – review & giveaway
It’s what they say – the older your children get, the smaller your house feels – and we are totally feeling that right now! Although our house is, technically, plenty big enough for the six of us, it just feels like between us we have so much STUFF!!!
So when it comes to storage, we are always on the look out for practical solutions, especially for the children’s bedrooms. I begrudge splashing out on expensive toy boxes or storage units, especially when the children grow so fast that what may store toys right now, could be brimming with football boots or make up in no time at all. That’s why we always look out for multi-purpose storage solutions, and why we were over the moon to review this DIY interlocking storage cube organiser.
Unlike other flat pack furniture, this unit is put together simply by hand with the addition of a small (included) hammer to make sure that the unit is secure. It also comes with the fittings to mount the unit to the wall for extra safety measures.
Each cube, measuring 35.5cm squared, made up of six bits of plastic sheeting making them waterproof, moisture proof, anti-mildew and anti-dust, and can be cleaned with a wet cloth. Perfect! The cubes can be attached in whichever formulation you need to fit your needs and your space, and all with handy little connector pieces.
We were really excited to make our unit and decided to opt for a square unit to fit the space in the children’s bedroom.
To build the initial frame literally took under ten minutes, and was so easy to put together. The hammer was perfect for tapping the connectors to really make sure that they stayed firmly in place. I was so impressed with how solid the frame was without the use of screws.
Once the unit was up we were able to attach the doors, all of which are so vibrant and fun, and the children loved seeing the different characters on each door!
I love that the unit can be made however small or large you need it to be, and that each cube is such a good size. For clothes, shoes or toys, there is plenty of room to tidy everything away!
If you’re wondering how big one cube can possibly be, let me tell you that they are big enough to contain one very mischievous three year old!!
Priced at just £33.99 I think that this is a real bargain. It’s very hard, if not impossible, to find similar storage for that price, and the quality of the unit is really impressive.

This is a really pretty storage cabinet! It’s good to know that it is very steady even without the use of screws in the structure. The pictures on each door are really cute and they definitely go really well with every decor of every children’s room.
