Vamousse: Stocking Up For School

Ever since Eva and Megan came into the world with a full head of hair, those beautiful blonde locks have kept on growing. By the time they started school their hair was long enough to sit on and, although school insists that all long hair must be tied up, I lived in fear of them catching the creepy crawlies!!!

Creepy crawlies, nits, head lice, whatever you call them, they freak me out! So I was religious about plaiting the girls hair each day, making sure that it was clipped back or wound into a bun, and painstakingly checked their hair each time a letter came home about an outbreak of head lice.

I will never forget the first time I noticed Eva scratching her head and how I had felt a sense of panic rising in my throat as I asked, “Eva, is your head itching?”. And as she frantically dug her fingernails into her scalp I parted her hair to discover that not only did she have head lice, but that there were literally hundreds of them!!

As a parent I felt pretty awful. I remember feeling incredibly dirty somehow, and so ashamed that I hadn’t noticed sooner, but most of all I just felt really sad for Eva whose eyes had filled with tears as she had sobbed, “But I don’t want creepy crawlies to live in my hair!!”.

And so, we set about trying to get rid of them.

For six long weeks, having spent an absolute fortune at the pharmacy, I battled to get rid of those head lice and despite the fact I was certain I had them all, one of them would always find a way back! It broke my heart that every night before bed I had to comb through every inch of Eva’s hair, and with hair that length, we must have wasted hours coming through it until finally we got them under control!

Knowing how horrendous that experience was, I am always one step ahead of the game these days, especially when the children are back at school. This year I am armed and ready with Vamousse Head Lice Treatment which is proven to kill 100% of lice and eggs within 15 minutes in scientific tests.

This is amazing news for families as, even thought we might not like to think about it 1 in 3 children in the UK will get head lice at some point during the year.

Vamousse Head Lice Treatment is proven to kill 100% of lice and eggs within 15 minutes in scientific tests and in one single application.

And using it couldn’t be easier! It comes in a mousse form which is non-greasy.

You can then use Vamousse Protective Shampoo, recommended for use for at least two weeks following Vamousse Head Lice Treatment, to make sure that the hair stays protected from those creepy crawlies!

I feel so reassured knowing that we have Vamousse Head Lice Treatment in the bathroom cabinet should head lice strike this term and will definitely be using Vamousse Protective Shampoo to cover all bases!

This looks great. So much better than the stuff that I used to had to have when I was little! I’ll definitely be stocked up on this stuff when Jasmine is a little older.

First time to hear about this Vamousse shampoo and it sounds really great. I am glad that I don’t have this kind of problem with my daughter’s hair but will share this with my cousins who’s having crawlies problem with their kids hair.

  15. October 2, 2018 / 9:27 am

this looks like a really good product – it’s such a hassle to get rid of the nits – and upsets the kids when they get them.

  16. October 2, 2018 / 11:03 am

oh hun we all been there at one point with our kids , so far for past few years we been so lucky with my daughter not bringing anything with her from school , but the ease of use is so much better than we used to have

  17. October 2, 2018 / 12:51 pm

I’ve never heard of this brand before but then again we thankfully haven’t had nits since my daughter was in reception. I found she always got them when she wore her hair down – once I had realised that she never wore it down at school again and never got them again. I love how simple this looks to use x

  18. October 2, 2018 / 12:51 pm

I remember having nits when I was a child and it was horrible trying to get rid of them as I had really long hair x

  19. October 2, 2018 / 1:42 pm

  20. October 2, 2018 / 2:16 pm

I have NEVER had head lice, nor has anyone in my family I’m HORRIFIED to think about them. If my children ever get them I’ll be sure to go to this product right away because honestly the idea of them just creeps me out. Thank you for sharing! Bookmarking for later use.

  22. October 2, 2018 / 4:13 pm

It’s the most thing I’m a dreading the most when my daughter starts school. I hate the thought of it! Glad the mousse product works and isn’t as harsh on hair than some others.

  28. October 2, 2018 / 8:17 pm

I am glad you found something that works. We lucked out and my guys never got lice. Amazing considering that they played a lot of sports with helmets which are supposed to be the worst for lice.

  29. October 2, 2018 / 9:04 pm

  35. October 3, 2018 / 12:26 pm

This is a smart solution that makes sense. I am always worried about head lice too. I would love to pick up this product and check it out.

  36. October 3, 2018 / 1:09 pm

Pickle suffered from starting school and the only way I stopped it was by having his curls cut off! Some other parents just did not bother to clear their child’s hair. This product looks great, I wish I had tried it. Kaz

  37. October 3, 2018 / 1:47 pm

I never heard of Vamousse – must be an American product? If so, will have to pick some up on my next visit! Lice have become resistant or immune to the stuff we have in Canada, causing HUGE problems. Thanks for hilighting this product for me!

Lol. Creepy crawlies are everywhere. Glad that there are products like this available in the market now.

  40. October 3, 2018 / 5:37 pm

This sounds like an effective product. Good to know it is available for when needed.

  41. October 3, 2018 / 5:45 pm

I well remember the embarrassment of taking my son to the hairdresser and her finding the dreaded creepy crawlies. We were not popular as she had to sterilise every thing. Good to find a product that works.

  42. October 3, 2018 / 6:53 pm

Wow, now that stuff gets the job done. I might need a bottle or two myself!

  43. October 3, 2018 / 8:15 pm

Glad to hear this product works, my brother used to suffer quite badly as a kid so this would have been perfect for him x

  44. October 4, 2018 / 2:00 am

I’ve been told that headlice is about cleanliness all the time. Apparently they like really clean hair so they can move around really easily. Could be just an old wives tale though!

  45. October 4, 2018 / 2:36 am

Good to know about this head lice treatment product. I wish it is available in the stores here. Your girls have beautiful hair. I hope they will always be lice free.

  46. October 4, 2018 / 4:32 am

This shampoo sounds so amazing! I need to check it out for my kids!

  47. October 4, 2018 / 8:57 am

I always worry my daughter will get nits as she has wild curls that always escape the bobbles I put in for school. So far we have not had any lice but with two kids in primary school, I am sure we will get them at some point. I will have to keep a lookout for vamousse x

  48. October 4, 2018 / 9:16 am

Lol had some people in my working troupe with head lice. Guess who’s gonna be sent this post!

I remember having hair lice myself growing up and what a horror it was for my mum and sister because they spread fast!! fab product

  50. October 4, 2018 / 10:26 am

Oh that’s such a good product – I know people that have tried it. We’ve been ultra lucky – neither child has had head lice – but just the thought of them makes me itch. It’s good to know there’s something you can buy that will wipe them out quickly.

  51. October 4, 2018 / 12:18 pm

Good idea to stock up for the school year! Head lice, yuck!

  52. October 4, 2018 / 4:55 pm

We have been really lucky to have not had any visitors for some time but I always keep the cupboard stocked just in case

  53. October 4, 2018 / 5:48 pm

I can remember having them growing up and it was such a pain to get rid of them, I had to leave the solution on forever. Love that this only takes 15 minutes and is in a mouse that makes it so much easier. I have two boys of my own now and hope we never have to go through this, I know it’s not as common in boys but it can still happen.

    October 4, 2018 / 7:46 pm

Wow, yeah nits and headlice are the worse. I remember getting it once as a kid but my mum went super militant about it and got rid of them ASAP. FOREVER!!!! Great that you are so committed to protecting your kids hair.

I will never forget getting these pesky pests when I was a kid and then the horrors that followed to get rid of them…fast forward to my own children when they all came home from summer camp with lice! I had hoped that after twenty years someone would have come up with a better solution for getting rid of these parasites…sadly I was doing the same time consuming treatments that my mom had done for me. This sounds like a real life saver!!

  57. October 4, 2018 / 8:18 pm

Great product and easy to use. I do and don’t miss these days.

  58. October 4, 2018 / 8:28 pm

This sounds fab, will remember for when I need it for Lucas

  59. October 4, 2018 / 11:31 pm

I wouldn’t feel too badly about it if I were you. It seems to be a right of passage these days. My kids went through it as well.

  60. October 5, 2018 / 6:25 am

Looks like an effective method! My worst nightmare when I was a kid was to get head lice

  62. October 11, 2018 / 11:02 am

Now my daughter has started school this is something that I too am worried about so stocking up with Vamoose seems great.

  63. October 12, 2018 / 7:40 pm

Lice are yucky overall. Good thing there are products like these to help prevent or treat head lice.
