If you were to ask Eva what three things she would want more than anything in the world, she would tell you a pet unicorn, to go to Disneyland and to be a mermaid. And whilst I’m saving as hard as I can for Disneyland, and I’ve collected her as many stuffed unicorns as I can possibly find, becoming a mermaid has always proved a little bit harder, until now….
I was recently introduced to Planet Mermaid, the most amazing website where children’s fairy tale dreams come true with swimwear, accessories and 100% swimmable mermaid tails. Aimed at children aged 3-14, as well as items for adults, there are so many beautiful colours, designs, and ways to fuel a child’s imagination to really make them fee like the mermaids they dream of.
Mermaid Tails
Every mermaid needs a tail and when Eva talks about becoming a mermaid the tail is the focus of her daydreams! The Planet Mermaid tails are reinforced with monofins that not only give a realistic look but also help to improve swimming skills. Suitable for ages 3 – 14, the tails can be used in and out of the water so are perfect for simply playing dress up, or for taking pretend play to the next level and diving in!
For those who have no interest in using the tail for swimming, you can order a tail without a monofin so to use it purely for dressing up. This is great for little ones and I love that the tails are unisex so that boys and girls can both be mermaids, or mermen, or whoever their imagination wishes them to be.
Each tail has a different design from Bubblegum Beach to Kensington Bluebell and each fabric is protected from chlorine so it doesn’t fade over time which is reassuring to know.
With other items such as swimsuits, bikini tops, tankinis, leggings, t shirts, accessories and gifts, Planet Mermaid has something for everyone and now that I have found a way to make Eva’s dream come true, I’m starting to think that I’d quite like to be a mermaid too!
