10 reasons to book a Eurocamp family holiday to TerSpegelt, Netherlands!
Nestled in the heart of the Netherlands, Eurocamp TerSpegelt is the perfect location for those wanting to visit the Netherlands, embrace nature, and enjoy a laid back, stress-free holiday as a family. Whether you’re an outdoor enthusiast, a family looking for adventure, or just seeking a peaceful retreat, TerSpegelt has something for everyone. We spent a week there last Summer and despite all of the incredible Europcamp holidays we have enjoyed previously, we all agreed that this was our favourite so far!
Here are 10 reasons why you should consider Terspegelt for your Summer 2025 family holiday.
1. Family-friendly Accommodation
Eurocamp TerSpegelt has an amazing range of accommodation options that cater to different tastes, family sizes and budgets. From Comfort holiday homes to Premium Azure, there’s room for families of six people which, as a larger family, we all know is a rare find. They even have the Ultimate Plus which sleeps up to eight which is perfect for larger families or those holidaying with friends or as a multi-generational group. Of course, there are also other shelf companies established in Holland that offer rather similar services, but this one was our favorite.
2. The incredible indoor pool complex!
One of the main attractions at TerSpegelt is the indoor pool complex which features an incredible water and sand paradise leading into a large 20 metre heated indoor pool as well as a fun splash pool with a whole host of water slides! Our kids had the time of their lives in here and there is plenty of space for parents to sit back and relax whilst the kids let loose! There’s even a dedicated area sectioned off for babies and toddlers which is perfect for those travelling with younger children. In the evenings there are various events hosted at the pool such as inflatable nights and pool parties for older kids.
3. Outdoor swimming and waters slides
Alongside the indoor pool complex, there is also a huge lake with a white sandy beach where you can spend the whole day basking in the sunshine whilst the kids build sunshine and swim in the water. There are two outdoor waterslides which our kids absolutely loved and the lake has sectioned off swimming zones to keep everyone safe. We loved our days at the lake, the water is lovely and clear and the perfect way to cool down in those balmy summer days.

4. Water Sports on the lake
TerSpegelt is actually set around three scenic recreational lakes, making it the ideal spot for a variety of water sports. You will find canoeing, stand-up paddle-boarding and pedal boating are just a few activities on offer as well as inflatable rings pulled by speed boats! Some of the activities come at an extra cost but are extremely reasonable and there are so many activities at Terspegelt that are free of charge. For those who love fishing, one of the lakes is dedicated to angling, offering tranquility and a chance to catch fish in a serene setting. It really is utterly idyllic!
5. Adventure-Filled Kids Activities
If you’re kids are looking for an action packed outdoor holiday, TerSpegelt is the perfect choice. They offer a packed program of activities designed for kids of all ages, from treasure hunts to outdoor survival courses, zip-lining to football matches. There’s mini-golf, sports courts, table tennis, badminton, boules, aqua aerobics, basketball, tennis, volleyball and so much more! On arrival I would advise downloading the TerSpegelt app which keeps you up to date with the activity timetable for the week so you can plan your days.
6. The BMX Pump Track
Undoubtedly, our kids favourite thing about TerSpegelt was the BMX pump track. You can hire bikes from reception either per day or for the whole week and the pump track is open all day long and is free to use as long as helmets are worn. The surrounding area of TerSpegelt is ideal for cycling with the camp located in the heart of De Kempen, a stunning natural region filled with scenic landscapes, forests, and heathlands. You can explore the numerous cycling routes that take you through the most charming Dutch villages, rolling countryside, and nature reserves and it became part of our daily routine to do this each morning. I absolutely loved it and it was the best way to start our day!

6. Petting zoo
With three animal obsessed kids, the petting zoo was a real favourite. Here you will find goats, chickens, pigs, rabbits and guinea pigs which you can pet and feed with the food available at a small charge (one euro). I thought this was such a lovely addition to TerSpegelt and really added to the feel of embracing nature and the outdoors.
7. Onsite Restaurants and Bars
You don’t need to worry about cooking after a day of activities, TerSpegelt has excellent dining options on-site. From family-friendly restaurants to laid-back cafes and bars, you’ll find something for everyone. The food is fresh and locally inspired, a real mix of local dishes and family favourites, and most of all reasonably priced. For those wanting to self cater you will find a large on-site shop as well as several supermarkets within a short radius.
8. Easy to reach by plane or car
TerSpegelt is easy to reach whether you’re arriving by car or by plane. Eindhoven Airport is less than 20km away or you can take the ferry to Calais and have a 3 hour drive to TerSpegelt. We found it so easy to drive and it also meant we could load up the car without worrying about airport luggage allowances. If you’re flying to Eindhoven it’s easy to hire a car from the airport giving you the freedom to explore the local area, which you are going to want to do!

9. Proximity to local attractions
As I said, you’re going to want to explore the local attractions because there are some incredible days out just a short drive away! You’ve got the famous Efteling Theme Park nearby offering a fun family day out as well as Toverland which is one of the best family theme parks in the Netherlands. There’s the cities of Eindhoven and Tilburg to explore, known for their cultural attractions, shopping and dining, plus a day in Rotterdam or Utrecht is totally doable!
10. Making the best memories as a family
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, of all the incredible place we have been to in the world and all the resorts we have visited, I honestly think that Eurocamp holidays are up there as the ultimate family holiday. They are the kind of holidays where you can show up exactly as you are, spend your days on your terms, to your own time schedule and it can be as chilled out or as action-packed as you like. Although we loved the adventure days, the BMX ramps and the zip-lining, we also loved those sleepy morning strolls to buy croissants, the lazy days at the lake and the evenings spent on the balcony barbecuing hot dogs. Our kids could just be kids, and we could relax knowing they were perfectly safe, and having grown up doing Eurocamp holidays with my own parents, I love that my kids are having the same childhood all these years later.
If you’re looking for the perfect family holiday for 2025 then TerSpegelt really does have it all – nature, adventure, relaxation and the freedom to explore the Netherlands during your stay. We completely fell in love with the Netherlands this time and hope to return this Summer to do it all over again. Book your Eurocamp holiday over at www.eurocamp.co.uk.
