Review: PAW Patrol Ultimate Fire Truck

Over the last few years Harry has been a massive Paw Patrol fan and is never happier than when he is watching Paw Patrol on the TV or acting out the latest mission PAW with his toys. And although he has been very lucky over the years to get the Look Out Tower, the PAW Patroller, and the Sea Patroller, there is just one thing left on his list – the Ultimate Fire Truck.

The Ultimate Fire Truck is a lot larger than I was expecting, which is a great thing for us as it means that Eva and Megan can play alongside Harry without leading to too many fall-outs.

The truck comes with a mini fire cart, a Marshall figure, 4 projectile launchers, 1 ladder, 1 sticker sheet and an instruction sheet. The truck also requires 2 AAA batteries which are included – bonus!

Looking at the truck I just know that Harry is going to love it. It has lots of exciting features such as an extendable claw and ladder, lights and sounds, and a water missile launcher.

At the front of the truck is the cab where you can place Marshall in the driving seat ready to save the day. The truck has room for all six pups onboard which is great for those with a larger collection.

To the side of the truck is the extendable working claw where Marshall can help to rescue anyone in trouble, pick them up, and lift them to safety. Harry is going to love that!!

One of the most exciting features is the extendable ladder measuring a whopping 2 feet tall and perfect for completing a mission PAW!

To activate the extendable ladder you simply lift and pull which is really easy to do. I worry a lot about toys like this and whether Harry will break it within seconds of playing with it, but it feels really robust and even when you pull on the extending mechanism it feels as though it will withstand even Harry’s level of play!

At the top of the ladder is the lookout cab with a lift up top so you can place Marshall in the cab ready for action.

And at the bottom of the cab is the water cannon launcher where you can send three cannons flying through the air to put out the fire! I know that Harry’s favourite feature of any toy is the launchers, so he is going to be over the moon with this!

I love that the truck also comes with a Mini Fire Cart which is stored inside of the truck and rolls right out into action. It’s great for siblings or more than one child playing together so that each can take it in turns with the smaller vehicle.

There is also a ladder which you can move around to position wherever you like.

I also love that there are lights and sounds on the truck activated by two red buttons on the top of the truck. Harry will love the fire engine siren and Paw Patrol theme tune, I’m just not sure I will enjoy it quite as much when it’s the thousandth time…

And lastly there is the fire hose which winds up under the truck and can pull out to put out the fires.

It can be used along side the mini fire cart by slotting into the top and then driving to out out the fire.

There is also a water cannon at the back where Marshall can sit to launch the cannon, and it does fly some distance!

Although the Ultimate Fire Truck has an RRP of £69.99, it’s a price I have come to expect from the larger Paw Patrol toys. Admittedly it is expensive but when I think about how much play Harry gets out of his other Paw Patrol toys, I know that ultimately it would be worth every penny. With Christmas coming this would be a great present for Paw Patrol fans, or even to share between siblings.

You can buy the Paw Patrol Ultimate Fire Truck from all major toy retailers. It is currently on offer at £64.99 here at Smyths.
