Sunglasses, Popcorn & Giveaways! #LittleLoves

Happy Friday! We’ve had a lovely week in the sunshine although just in time for the weekend, the rain has hit! I’m hoping that tomorrow sees the return of the sun as we have big plans and the rain was not part of them! Anyway, on to this weeks Little Loves.

This week I have read What Alice Forgot by Liane Moriarty, a gripping title from an author I love, and it didn’t disappoint! When Alice wakes up after a bump to her head, she has forgotten the last decade of her life, including having children, separating from her husband and why her beloved sister is no longer speaking to her. It’s a real page turner and I read it in one luxurious, sun fuelled sitting! I totally recommend it for the perfect Summer read!

Love Island – obsessively! Every since it first hit our screens three years ago, I have been a huge fan, and this year is possibly my favourite series yet! With the antics of Muggy Megan, Dr Alex, and, my personal favourites, Dani and Jack, I have cringed, screamed and cried through every episode. I’ve seen a lot of negative feedback this year to the show, claiming it depicts all that is wrong with modern society, that it is setting a bad example to youngsters, setting unrealistic expectations of body image, and that given the sad loss of Sophie Grayken last week, is leaving those who take part particularly vulnerable.
Personally, I take it for what it is and although for the most part it’s all one big game, it’s lovely to see the start of a couples love story and I have high hopes for Dani and Jack and will be backing them all the way!

I heard the amazing news that I have been made a finalist in the 2018 Butterfly awards for Best Author/Blogger raising awareness of baby loss. This is a huge honour for me, more so than any other due to what it represents, and I just hope that I can continue to make Joseph proud and share our story as it deserves to be told.

Cheating a little here as we didn’t make the food as such but I did make the pyjama picnic! We have been shading from the sun with a movie (The Greatest Showman of course!) and the most delicious snacks courtesy of Prezzybox. I am obsessed with their Chocolate Indulgence Fudge with flavours such as Belgium chocolate swirl, rich chocolate flavour, chocolate fruit and nut and chocolate pistachio. Even better it’s all gluten free!

We’ve also been enjoying flavoured popcorns like cheese on toast, marmite, and just for Mummy – Gin and Tonic flavour! I know what you’re thinking, how can that even taste good? But the cheese on toast one inparticular is so moreish the kids have been fighting over it! It’s definitely worth a try!

With this gorgeous weather there has never been a better time to invest in a decent pair of sunglasses. Eva has super sensitive eyes, something which the optician told us is very common in people whose eyes are very pale blue, and she really suffers at this time of year. I’ll be honest with you, I have always refused to buy anything but cheap sunglasses as every year without fail they break each pair within just days of getting them!

This Summer we were sent a pair of Suneez, which are the funkiest sunglasses for ages 5-12 years, with polarised lens, UV400 protection, 100% UVA/UVB protected, and hailed as “virtually unbreakable” With a sports strap, a microfibre carry pouch, which doubles up as a cloth, they have thought of everything and although at £25 they may be more expensive than the pairs I usually buy, they will last far, far longer!!
