I think every parent of school aged children will relate when I tell you that my kids are obsessed with slime!!! I totally get the appeal, and at the same age I would have gone equally crazy for it, but I still can’t help but shudder at the thought of all of the mess! This Christmas my girls discovered Poopsie Surprise Slime, a whole new level of slime fun with a unicorn themed twist, and they soon set their sights on wanting to review the Poopsie Pooey Puitton Bag.
What is the Pooey Puitton Bag?
The Pooey Puitton Bag is a portable unicorn poop shaped case jam packed with everything you need to go slime crazy.
When you open the bag you will discover two sides with various compartments. Within each compartment you will find –
Poop storage x 12
12 x Unicorn food (slime powder)
1 x Exclusive bottle
1 x Measuring Cup
1 x Exclusive Poop character keychain
6 x Unicorn Magic packets
4 x Unicorn Sparkle packets
2 x Unicorn Crunch packets
4 x Mystery Scents
1 x spoon
How does it work?
The thing that impressed me initially was just how clear the instruction booklet is which accompanies the bag. There is nothing worse than opening a toy and discovering that you need a PHD just to understands the instructions, but this one was super easy.
You simply fill the exclusive cup with 30ml of water (using the measuring cup included) and then choose one of the four mystery scents to the perfume your slime.
The kids loved trying to identify each scent and then squeezed five drops into the cup – simple!
The next step is to choose one of the unicorn food bottles which is basically slime powder, and tip it into the cup. The fun part was not knowing what colour the slime would be and the children were so excited to see the water instantly start to turn blue.
You then replace the lid (I double checked this ready for the next part)….
And then shake the cup for 60 seconds to mix up all of that unicorn poop. The children loved this part and I think the exclusive bottle is such a fun touch in the form of a drinks cup with a straw.
The next step was the hardest part for the children – wait 15/20 minutes for the slime to thicken. I’m sure you can imagine how long those minutes dragged for them, and for me!! Thankfully after our 2427th check, we discovered that the slime had thickened and was a really funky bright blue colour.
The kids were so pleased with their ‘unicorn poop” although with the colour being so vibrant the slime made their hands quite blue! Luckily this washed off with soap and water and the kids thought it was hilarious!
The fun part about the unicorn poop is that you can either leave it there and enjoy it simply as the slime, or you can add in one of the other ingredients to add something extra! Unicorn Magic is an additional powder which causes the slime to change colour, Unicorn Sparkle is glittery confetti, and Unicorn Crunch is polystyrene balls to add a squishy texture to the slime. Eva was excited to try the Unicorn Magic first!
The Unicorn Magic is an iridescent powder which, I’ll be honest does get everywhere, but if you apply to the centre of the slime and fold repeatedly, it mixes in quite easily.
Eva was amazed to see the slime turn from blue to purple and I can totally see why kids love this part. It doesn’t get more magical than colour changing unicorn poop!
The only downside is that the more they played with it, and the warmer it became, the stickier and messier it got! That said, the following day when it had been stored over night, the slime was a little less sticky and I expect this will continue the older the slime gets.
Personally I think my favourite thing about the set is the little portable storage pots where you can put the unicorn poop, close the lid, and know that it is safely stored away. Phew!
So what’s the verdict?
I’ll be honest with you – my kids LOVED this set. The look on their faces as they opened it was priceless and the ‘Oohs and Aaahs’ as they made the slime really were lovely. From my point of view as a parent, with a RRP of £75 this is a lot of money for, what is basically, slime. That said, when you divide the cost by 12, it works out at £6.25 per slime which suddenly seems far more reasonable. Plus I have been looking on line and seen the Pooey Puitton for as little as £44.99 (here at Very) which is actually far more affordable.
For any child who loves slime, this really is the ultimate collection and regardless of my panic over the mess, the kids would give this a massive thumbs up. Plus it earned me a whole load of Mum points as a result!
