Our Weekend In London Wish List

Whilst Lewis has been to London several times, and even Eva earlier this year, we have never taken all four of the children together and yet this Summer I have promised them we will have a weekend of sight seeing and exploring the capital. And whilst I can’t promise that we will meet the queen (Megan’s suggestion), we did manage to create a wish list of things we wanted to squeeze into our weekend away.

I am sharing our top 5 wishes for our weekend in London.

1. Go on the underground

Living in the north we don’t have an underground system and Megan and Harry can’t get their heads around the fact that in London, you can travel underground. It was at the top of both of their lists for our London visit although I’m not sure they will be quite as keen when it happens, especially in this heat!

2. Stay in a hotel

My children are obsessed with staying in hotels and, although we often travel throughout the UK, they never grow tired of visiting new places. We have been researching the best places to stay in London and have seen the gorgeous 4 Star Hotel South Kensington which looks perfect for our family.

3. Visit Buckingham Palace

Is it even a trip to London if you don’t visit Buckingham Palace? My children are fascinated with the royal family, even more so since the royal wedding, and are desperate to see where the Queen lives. I can’t wait to take them!

4. See a show at the West End

Earlier this year Lewis, Eva, Gaz and I travelled to London to see Wicked on the west end and yet unfortunately both Megan and Harry were poorly and unable to come. It was such an amazing experience for us and I’m sure it will be even lovelier as a family of 6.

5. Cruise on the River Thames

In my opinion there is no better way to see London than from the River Thames, and particularly in the Summer it’s a lovely experience. Fingers crossed that this lovely weather lasts!

So there you have it, our London wish list. I am so excited to share our trip with you this Summer!
