20 must have items for your home first aid kit

Over the last few months, with the children at home each day and playing out in the garden or going on more adventurous walks, we have never been through so many plasters or antiseptic creams! If it’s not scraped knees from over enthusiastic skating it’s bumped heads from charging around the house and, on walks in the woods, we’ve had more bites and nettle stings than the last five years put together!

For that reason I’ve been making sure our first aid kit is fully replenished and wanted to share twenty must have items I bought from an online pharmacy to keep our kids safe and well at home.

  1. Antiseptic wipes
  2. Antiseptic cream
  3. Alcohol free wipes
  4. Different sized plasters
  5. Adhesive tape
  6. Elastic bandages
  7. Scissors
  8. Tweezers
  9. Disposable latex gloves
  10. Thermometer
  11. Calamine lotion
  12. Child friendly antihistamine, eg Piriton
  13. Insect repellent
  14. Antihistamine cream
  15. Infant paracetamol
  16. Arnica gel
  17. Eye wash & eye bath
  18. Crepe bandages
  19. Safety pins
  20. First aid manual

It’s important to make sure you keep your first aid kit in the same place for emergencies, out of reach of children, and check the contents regularly to make sure all missing items are replaced. I’m hoping we’ll have fewer bumps and scrapes over the Summer but if not, at least I am ready and equipped!

What are your must have items for your first aid kit?
