Before the children came along I loved nothing more than shopping. I’d make an entire day of it with friends, have a leisurely lunch, a glass of wine and a wander round the shops, and all of my spare cash went on my wardrobe. These days my life is very different, not only does our spare money go on buying clothes for the children, but I couldn’t think of anything worse than dragging them round the shops! Infact there isn’t enough wine on the planet to make that bearable and, for that reason, when it comes to the children’s wardrobes, we buy the majority of their clothes from the supermarket, killing two birds with one stone with the weekly shop!
With the lovely weather over the last few weeks we have been stocking up on Summer clothing, and with the Nutmeg range now available in every Morrisons store, this was at the top of our list. As a Mum I want three things from my children’s clothing – good quality, good value and good design.
Nutmeg has all of that and more, and this seasons collection didn’t disappoint!
The fact that Nutmeg offer a 200 day no quibble guarantee speaks volumes, so confident are they that their clothing will stand the test of time, and satisfy your needs. And whilst it’s one thing dressing your children to sit around the house, to quietly watch television without a muddy puddle in sight, it’s another to dress them for the park and the playground, to have them run, jump, climb and crawl, and know that their outfit will survive the Summer!
At three, Harry shows very little interest in his outfits, unlike Lewis who at thirteen deliberates for hours, and yet he was over the moon with his “binosaur” t-shirt. The downside was that the roared, on repeat, the entire day, although three other Mums asked me where we had bought it from so at least he got their attention!
One of the fab things about Nutmeg is that some of the girls dresses come in packs of two, which considering Eva and Megan wear the same sized clothes, is perfect! Everyone knows that I’m a huge fan of twinning but I love that the dresses compliment each other, and actually at just £7 for a pack of two, I can afford to buy them a set each!
As much as I love to dress the girls in dresses, they aren’t always practical. Often I will choose something that, although very pretty, is uncomfortable to wear, and those dresses are placed at the back of the wardrobe in favour of a simple cotton design. That’s another thing that I love about Nutmeg, all of their clothing is designed for life. There’s nothing too fussy, nothing too fancy, nothing too itchy or scratchy or a thousand other things that my children find to whinge about each day!
And not only does the Nutmeg range suit the children, but it suits me too. With so much attention to detail, including SP40 materials on selected items, supersoft fabrics, easy to use fastenings and adjustable waistbands, they really have thought of everything!
I love how you could choose ten different items from the Summer range and come up with a whole array of outfits. Every piece can be matched in some way, from bright colours to soft whites, stripes and prints, polka dots and palm trees, there is something for everyone, from babies to 14 years.
And although the children were more than a little bit grubby after a day at the park, and their outfits fully reflected that, I was able to bung them all in the wash, into the dryer, and straight back on without even having to dust off the iron! Now that is a real victory in my book!
Although the weather has taken a turn for the worst, when the sunshine returns we will be more than ready to step into Summer!!
*** We were sent these items from Nutmeg for the purpose of this review. All words and opinions are my own. ***
I love their dresses Laura! They are so colourful and bright for the summer. My girls love to wear co-ordinating clothes and they would love these. They are typical girly girls and it’s all about pretty dresses in our house. I can’t believe the price, amazing! x
They are gorgeous aren’t they? I LOVE Nutmeg, the Summer collection is so pretty and also the prices are fantastic! Definitely my favourite supermarket range of the summer! xx
Omg they are so pretty! The twins!!! Your son is adorable too. Totally love the photos 🙂 Love your logo too, rocks? What does it mean? http://www.clairebearblogs.com
Thank you Claire – although they aren’t twins! Shocking I know! 4 and 5, and the spitting image of eachother! xx
Some great photos here. Those twins clearly love the camera!
Thank you Jon, although they aren’t twins believe it or not!! 4 and 5! xx
What a gorgeous range! Loving the dresses and the fact the material is also SPF 40 is a major win!
I love Nutmeg, perfect for children! I’ve never tried the adult range but I’ve heard it’s fab too! xx
Aww, these dresses are beautiful. Great prices too. Lovely pictures Laura 🙂
Thank you Claire. They are such lovely colours aren’t they! xx
The dresses are so cute! But then again, your little ones are always so well dressed and adorable. With grandchildren of my own, I’ll have to look to see if Nutmeg is available here in the U.S. Anything that can go directly from the dryer and onto child is a win in my book! x
Ahh thank you so much, it’s very easy to buy for the children! Gone are the days of buying things for myself!! Nutmeg is a UK supermarket range so not in the US just yet unfortunately! xx
Who would have thought that Morrisons could create such a beautiful range? I love the dresses so pretty x x
I know!! It’s my favourite supermarket range! xx
They are so adorable! It looks like they are having a blast. Great dresses and fun stuff.
Thank you Tonya, I love that the clothes are designed for life, means they can roll around in the mud and climb and swing without me worrying! xx
Never heard of nutmeg before except for the spice. Those are definitely summer clothes!
They are fab! Such a great range all year round! xx
This sounds like a lovely place to buy outfits for the kids! I’m always on the lookout for cute outfits that are comfy for the kids to wear! I am loving the dresses for my daughter.
Thank you Amanda. Childrens clothes are amazing these days aren’t they? xx
Nutmeg is an awesome brand! I am loving their outfits for the kids. I think that shirt is really nice and it’s perfect for the kids, they are always attracted to prints like that in clothes.
Harry LOVES his dinosaur t-shirt, they are fab for the summer! xx
My daughter has had a couple of items from there for Christmas and they are beautiful although the sizing for her is a bit off.
They have a lovely range! Ah so many shops have different sizes, I tend to buy a size bigger at Morrisons. xx
My daughter is a huge fan of Nutmeg clothes and I love that they are so affordable. I love the girls dresses, perfect for summer x
They are fab aren’t they? The majority of the children’s clothes are from the supermarkets, it’s silly to pay more when they grow so fast! xx
Clothes that mean I don’t have to iron are definitely a winner! Those dresses are adorable. Morrisons seem to be the only supermarket this town doesn’t have and I’m not sure we even have one near which is such a shame. I’m always on the look out for really good versatile clothes that are affordable.
Ahh that’s a shame. I’m hoping in time they will start to sell on-line! I refuse to spend a fortune on the children’s clothes at this age, they grow so fast! xx
I love that the clothing are spf made – this takes one weight off my mind during summer and the kids look super cute!
It’s great isn’t it? I love Morrisons, as a supermarket and as a clothing label! xx
I love the fun prints on the clothes. It’s always good to find affordable childrens that will last!
I agree, there’s no need to spend a fortune on the childrens clothes! xx
Loving the outfits! I enjoy picking up a couple of Nutmeg pieces whenever we shop at Morrisons – the quality is good and the designs are fun 🙂
I agree, and so much easier to pick something out whilst doing the weekly shop! xx
Oh These twins are so cute especially with their dresses. Perfect for summer outfit!
Thank you, although they aren’t even twins believe it or not! xx
I’ve never heard of the nutmeg brand but it looks like they’ve passed the most important test…outdoor play with the children!
Absolutely! It’s a tough test to pass! xx
Loved the dresses which is bright and colorful 🙂 Really liked that !
Me too, the colours are gorgeous! xx
Such cute dresses. So bright and perfect for the summer.I’ve never thought of Nutmeg particularly before, but will be stopping by to take a look at what they’ve got in stock this season.x
Oh I would definitely recommend them! You’ll definitely find something you love! xx
That is amazing – no ironing is always a winner in my eyes.
The clothes look lovely and the 200 day money back guarantee is super. Another reason to love Morrisons!
Oh mine too, I never iron unless we really have to! xx
I have to say I love the Nutmeg clothes range for children. Great colours and variety, all while doing your weekly shop. It’s one brand I’m going to miss in the long term now we’ve relocated!
Ahh hopefully you will have someone who is able to send them to you! xx
I love the no quibble guarantee, that does boost confidence. I get fed up of things bobbling or shrinking in the wash so this looks much better. And what nice designs!
A 200 day no quibble guarantee is exactly what you want isn’t it? They really do have a fab range! xx
Loved these vibrant colorful dresses! Nutmeg clothing range looks amazing for kids!
The colours are amazing! xx
I love Nutmeg clothes but we don’t have a store near us. We were in Wales last week and I stumbled across one and some clothes accidently fell in my shopping basket. Saw a dinosaur hoodie like Harry’s t-shirt but sadly they didn’t have Sebby’s size 🙁
Haha accidentally fell in! Morrisons isn’t really a southern supermarket is it? We can never find one when we are down that way! xx
Goodness, I LOVE Nutmeg clothes. They had loads of yellow and blue boy clothes in over the Autumn and thats how I discovered yellow is Pickle’s best suited colour! They just wash so well don’t they?
Ahh I love yellow on boys and girls, it’s such a happy colour! And yes, I love anything that washes well! xx
I haven’t heard of Nutmeg but will check them out now! The range looks fab! (jealous of the playground too… 🙂 )
It’s my favourite supermarket range, amazing value! xx
I really do love the Nutmeg clothes! Such good value and look great! I too miss the days where I could shop without someone moaning the whole time lol xx
Haha at least when they are strapped into the trolley it’s not quite as bad! xx
They look super cute in these pictures. Wow I didn’t know NUTMEG did clothing with sun protection, that’s great to hear!
It’s only on selected products but it’s such a good idea and so reassuring for the summer! xx
I love the binosaur shirt. Anything that’s not just another boys’ t-shirt with a print on it is a winner with me! I’d absolutely buy them – I’ve never bought clothes from Morrisons before but my niece works there part time so I’ll sneak in and have a look now!
Ooh yes it’s a fab range! I wonder if she gets a discount…..! xx
Lovely outfits the kids have on. Love the dresses. I dislike shopping with the kids too. It’s usually a bad experience for us all. Lol 😂
Haha always!! It leads me to drink! xx
nice outfit, kids love when they do their own thing and always get what they want. good post for the message passed.
Thanks Lex. xx
Love the bright colours on the dresses. The kids look like they’re having a great time #KCACOLS
Thanks Laura, they are gorgeous colours aren’t they?! xx

They are great aren’t they? I love the dresses, perfect for the sunshine – if it ever returns! xx
supermarkets are fantastic for kids clothes these days. I’m in envy of my daughter’s wardrobe! Our local Morrisons has just had a very small clothing section put in (half an aisle), and I have been ogling a lot of the beautiful summer dresses and shorts. I didn’t spot these dresses in there so will have to pop back to see if they have them in stock x
#KCACOLS
I saw that every Morrisons now has a clothing department which is great! I’m back there tomorrow for Harry! xx
I didn’t realise they did clothing! It looks really nice, and 200 days, wow they must be confident it! They look as cute as anything
A 200 day guarantee speaks volumes doesn’t it? Thank you for commenting. xx
These look great. I love the bright colours and prints. I’ve never heard of Nutmeg, but I’m a big fan of buying clothes from the supermarkets for the exact same mention you mention, so I’ll be sure to check these out. Thanks for linking up with #KCACOLS, hope to see you again next time! xx
It’s a fab range, I’m a huge fan of their clothes and always find something we want – even when we aren’t looking! xx
Wow 200 days is a really fantastic guarantee!
Isn’t it just! That’s confidence right there! xx
Oh I love that stripy dress! And how fab that the dresses come in packs of 2, makes them a real bargain! I don’t tend to shop in Morrisons as it’s not my closest supermarket but I’m so tempted to pop over there just to check out the clothes now! x
Forgot to add #KCACOLS! x
If ever you’re passing I totally recommend it! We love it, they have some gorgeous things! xx
