Over the last few years we have shared our love of Playmobil and how, when it comes to encouraging children to use their imagination, it is one of the children’s favourite brands, and ours too. We’ve had Playmobil in our home spanning 15 years now and it’s going to be a sad day when the children finally outgrow it, although one day, the grandchildren are going to have an amazing collection to drag down from the attic!
With December not too far off (where do the months go?) we’ve been looking at advent calendars and the children are insistent that this year there is only one calendar they want – the Jumbo Advent Calendar from Playmobil. Packed with 261 pieces PLUS a large playhouse I predict it’s going to be a best seller this year!
Although the calendar is a little pricier than I would usually spend on an advent calendar, split between the youngest three it makes for a fun play set that they can use throughout the year alongside their existing Playmobil toys. Plus if you break the price down per item it actually works out to be around the same price you would pay for an average set, if not cheaper!

The advent calendars when I was young, just had a wee flap we lifted to see a picture of a snowman or Santa etc. My children got to count down the days to Christmas with wee chocolate shapes behind every door. This calendar is so much more interesting. My great granddaughter would absolutely love it.and she could play with the toys up to Christmas and beyond. A real treat.
