As I’ve said before, Harry is obsessed with PJ Masks and, although he has a selection of toys from the range, the moment he saw the new PJ Masks Mission control HQ playset it went straight to the top of his wish list!
Having already had the original Headquarters, I was excited to see that the new HQ playset has many new features. Set across three levels of action packed fun the HQ comes with both Catboy and Romeo giving endless scope for fun, interactive play.
It’s worth bearing in mind that the set does require assembly and, although it’s relatively straight forward, it can be a little time consuming so definitely worth pre-building before birthdays or Christmas morning if your child is particularly impatient to play!
Once set up the playset starts out as the iconic PJ Masks totem pole Headquarters as seen in the show and then opens to reveal three levels of kid-powered features that will keep children entertained for hours. One of Harry’s favourite things about the show is the totem pole and I know he will love whizzing Catboy down the pole for each mission.
Each level can be easily exposed by flipping open the doors to reveal even more fun features including the secret trap door, lighting bolt cage and a light and sounds control panel that plays phrases from the show.
I love the red feather launcher on the roof of the headquarters which swivels down onto the ceiling of the floor below when the door is flipped. Harry is going to love this as well as launching the feather at evil Romeo!
The set also comes with robot hands and shields which can be stored in the inside of the door when not in use, perfect for making sure small pieces do not get lost.
My favourite feature is the secret trap door which you can use to trap villains in the lightning bolt cage below. Pressing the quick release button on the side, the floor falls away, and the villain drops into the cage below.
Harry is going to love capturing evil Romeo in the cage and I think that this is such a fun feature which will bring him hours of imaginary play. There is nothing nicer than watching him re-enact his favourite show!
The side of the cage can then be opened to release the villain, or perhaps to aid them in their escape! The great thing about the set including both Catboy and Romeo is that Harry can play alongside the girls to really get into the game.
Up on the top level is the control tower where you can choose your next mission with the scroll-through tablet – another fab little feature which will really add to use of play.
At £49.99 for the playset, it is reflective of other toys in the PJ Masks series. With the inclusion of two characters and the amount of play the children will get from it, I think it’s a reasonable present for PJ Masks fans. That said, it is currently on offer at other retailers so it’s worth checking out before you buy!
We are offering one lucky winner the chance to win the PJ Masks HQ Play set by entering via the link below. One winner will be chosen at random and notified via email at close go give-away on June 30th. Good luck!
