All aboard The Trunki Train: Una Unicorn Trunki Giveaway!
Being a parent is hard work at the best of times but, with four children and a super busy January, it really is exhausting! As much as I love being a Mum, and I genuinely wouldn’t change it for the world, I think it is so important for the sake of all our sanities to spend some time apart, even if just for one weekend. And so, having roped in the grandparents for a sleepover, Gaz and I booked a weekend away and broke the news to the kids that this time, they simply weren’t invited!
Luckily our break tied in with the most exciting delivery from Trunki, the new Una Unicorn design that my girls have been lusting after since the first time they saw it, no doubt on YouTube, and fell in love with the pretty colours and the rainbow coloured tail.
We have never actually had a Trunki before and yet the girls have seen plenty of them on previous holidays and moaned that they wished they had one instead of their “boring old suitcases” which, to be fair, is exactly how I feel when I see children scooting along on their Trunkis at the airport!

Looking at the case you can see exactly why these are a hit with both parents and children – both practical and fun, the perfect size for hand luggage, and a 5 year guarantee, which speaks volumes in how confident Trunki are that their products are built to last.

By the time the weekend came around the girls were so excited, partly for the sleepover, and all of those treats no doubt waiting at their Grandparents, and partly because they had been itching to get their hands on the Trunki. “My train!!” Harry had declared, as soon as we unboxed it, for anything with wheels is a train in his eyes. “It’s not a train! It’s a unicorn!” Eva had told him, “MY unicorn!”. And he had silently retreated to the side lines, wearing his “train drivers hat”, his bottom lip stuck firmly out, as the girls opened up the case to reveal the glittery stickers and luggage strap inside. And honestly, given their reactions you would think they had struck gold! If there’s one thing that my girls love more than a unicorn, it’s stickers! Glittery, sparkly stickers at that!

The girls loved that the Trunki has a sparkly unicorn horn, something which they “oohed” and “aahed” over almost as much as they did the tail, and after placing the stickers on the case (and a few on each other!), we were ready to pack.

Our packing was somewhat hindered by Harrys insistence that the Trunki was still very much a train, and trying to get anything in the case while he shouted, “Trunki train!” at the top of his voice, whilst making the most high pitched “Toot toot!” noises, repeatedly, was a real challenge!!

By the time we were good to go, Gaz and I chomping at the bit to start our child-free weekend (not to mention all of that sleep we were looking forward to!), the girls, sensing our enthusiasm, decided that now was the time to move as slowly as possible, stalling for time, doing their best to take as long as was humanly possible to get on their coats and out to the car. And so it turned out that we were super grateful when Harry stepped up to the job of driving the “Trunki train” straight out of the door, full steam ahead, leaving us to crack open the champagne and enjoy every single moment of our peace and quiet!!
Toot toot!!!

If you’d like to win a Una Unicorn Trunki, maybe in the hope of packing off our children for a sleepover the the Grandparents too, simply enter via the link below. The winner will be chosen at random and notified by email on the 26th February.
Good Luck!!

I am a Grandma of 3 but don’t get child free weekends. The middle one arrives anytime after 2pm on Saturday, with his Trunki, as my daughter does a night shift on Saturday nights as she has child care available!!??!! Her partner is Manager of a pub/restaurant and works until late so I get to babysit 90% of Saturday nights. The week after next I have the oldest and youngest coming as my other daughter and her partner are at a wedding. They two will arrive with their Trunki’s, the eldest has had hers for 9 years and the baby who is 7 months got her Trunki last week.
When I do have child free weekend I visit friends – could do with my own Trunki for that – or stay at home and do as little as possible.
Haha well fingers crossed you win this Trunki, I’m sure you would look fab with a unicorn trunki in tow!! xx
Jump in the nearest HOT TUB with drinks in hand!
