Hello Canvas: My favourite photo

As those of you who follow me on Instagram may be aware, I take a lot of photographs of the children…..and I make no excuses for that! Being a blogger it seems to be an unwritten rule that in the Summer months you must visit the lavender fields and snap beautiful photos of your children, and I was keen not to miss out!

I love every single photo that I took of the children that day, posing in the lavender in beautiful dresses (or running wild if your name is Harry!), and yet one of the photos literally blew me away. I think I would go as far as saying that this is my favourite photo of Eva, ever.

As soon as I had taken this photo I knew that I wanted it on a canvas, it just captured her thoughtful personality so well, and when Hello Canvas asked me to review one of their products, I didn’t hesitate to say yes!

Hello Canvas have a wide range of products ranging from canvases to framed prints, phone cases to wall maps, and yet one item caught my eye instantly – the HD metal canvas. The website describes the canvas as follows –

HD metal is the most beautiful thing we have ever seen. HD Metal consists of a thin aluminum plate with a special coating on top. We then use a unique technique to apply your photo or image onto it. The result is phenomenal!! Razor-sharp, ultra strong with a never seen before photo quality. The material we use is scratch-resistant and waterproof so it is perfect for outdoor use. The high-gloss version is the successor of acrylic prints however it is lighter, stronger, cheaper and has vibrant colours! The matt version is the successor for dibond, aluminium and forex prints. HD Metal comes with a free hanging system and spacer for the wall which gives it more depth. HD Metal was created for galleries and top photographers but is now also available for you!

With a choice of matt or glass, I chose the gloss for a premium professional finish. Just a few days later my canvas arrived, well packaged and protected, and it was absolutely beautiful!! The quality of the print was everything I had hoped it to be, and my only negative is that, with it being a gloss finish, it was so difficult to catch on camera just how lovely it is!!

The canvas is so light weight and so thin, unlike my heavy acrylic canvases I have currently. The colours were also much brighter and the picture sharper, something which I feel regular canvases really lack.

The back of the canvas has an adjustable hanger that you can move to whichever position you like in order for your canvas to hang perfectly.

I am so impressed with our canvas and the whole process from start to finish. I can’t wait to get our canvas up on the kitchen wall so that I can look at it each day and beam with pride at what a beautiful little girl I have.

  4. Framing is so expensive! I have so many things to frame, I jut have to dive in and do it. I’ll check out HD Metal. I like the brushed finish a lot so it might work on some smaller pieces that need a frame.
