Thoughtful baby gifts for someone who has everything
If you’re planning on buying a gift for somebody who is having a baby, it can be quite difficult to know exactly what to get, especially if they already seem to have everything. It may seem like they already have a baby bag, plenty of diapers, newborn clothes, and noisy toys prepared for when the baby arrives. There are some fantastic gift ideas over at https://www.lapach.com.au/collections/for-baby.
In this article, we’re going to suggest some thoughtful baby gifts that parents will appreciate, even if they seem as if they’re already prepared.
Lots of diapers
It doesn’t matter how many diapers a parent has, even if they have a floor-to-ceiling stack of diapers, it’s never enough. In the first month alone, a newborn can go through 8 to 10 diapers per day – that’s roughly 70 diapers per week. Oh, and diapers add up, a 1-week supply of diapers usually costs between $30 – $50, depending on the brand.
So yes, it may look like the expectant parents are prepared and have diapers to last a lifetime, but in reality, they probably have enough diapers for a couple weeks. Just the other day, my 2 year old son pooped his diaper, and after I changed him, he pooped again within 15 minutes. So the expectant parents may “have everything”, but they’ll never have enough diapers.
Baby shower gift baskets
Gift baskets are a welcome gesture for pretty much any special occasion. If you are completely unsure what to bring to a baby shower, you really can’t go wrong with a gift basket like these luxury baby hampers, which are full of luxury products like onesies, socks, stuffed animals, and other baby accessories made from high-end materials.
Extra swaddling blankets
Every parent thinks they have enough swaddling blankets, until it’s time to do the laundry which has been peeling up because honestly, who has time to do the laundry with a newborn baby? And now all of their swaddling blankets are covered in dried baby spit-up and other fluids.
So yes, extra swaddling blankets are a necessity. The best are the soft, luxurious kind with hoods, and act as both towels and blankets for keeping baby cozy after bath time.
Gift cards
There’s absolutely nothing wrong with buying gift cards for an expectant parent, as they will surely put it to good use. However, once the baby arrives, they may be too overwhelmed and busy to make shopping trips to a physical store, so something like Amazon gift cards, or even prepaid Visa cards that allow them to shop online, are totally best.
Something from their wish list
Perhaps they haven’t made it public, but every parent has a “wish list” of things they’d like to purchase to make parenting easier. Or perhaps something for themselves to relax and de-stress after long days of being elbow-deep in baby poop. In any case, if you really can’t think of a baby gift the recipient needs, simply ask.
All parents keep a mental list of things that they would like to have for the baby, so take out the guesswork and just ask directly if there’s something you can buy for them.
