In this article, that’s exactly what we’re going to be looking at, so keep reading if you want to find out more!

Sometimes It’s Scary
Pregnancy can be scary, especially the first time. It’s not always the case for everyone that it’s smooth sailing, and you’ve got to understand that there are things that can go wrong while you’re pregnant. We’re not trying to scare you here, but we don’t want anything to be sprung on you if you thought that everything was definitely going to be alright all the way through. Sometimes things go wrong, sometimes your blood pressure can shoot up, sometimes there can be other things that need to be managed, and you’ve got to be aware of this possibility. It can be scary, but that doesn’t mean that it won’t be okay.
There are plenty of people to support you in the hospitals and your midwife as well, so you are going to be well taken care of. You also have the support of everyone around you, and while that doesn’t mean it won’t be scary, it will help.
Don’t Always Believe Social Media

Don’t let yourself be tricked by social media into thinking that pregnancy is always glowing skin and happy days. It isn’t. Well, for some people it is, but for some, this is not the reality. Don’t let yourself feel like you are not doing a good job because you do not feel the way that people are expressing on social media. Don’t let yourself believe that you are somehow abnormal because you are not having the experience that other people are having. Each pregnancy journey is different, and you can’t compare yours to someone else’s. Keep in mind that social media is only one side of the story, you don’t know how they are doing away from the spotlight.
Try not to take everything that you read as solid truth. People don’t like to post about the bad days on social media and trust us, everyone has them.
Month By Month
If you’re not familiar with what happens during pregnancy, then you might feel better if you educate yourself on the topic. For example, you can go through the pregnancy month by month and see what stage your little one is at, how they are developing, what they should weigh, what they should measure etc. There’s so much knowledge to be had, and you’re always going to feel better when you know what’s going on.
You can also look into something like a month by month pregnancy checklist as this will help better keep track of your pregnancy. You will know where you are, what you have to do and so on. It will help keep everything organized for you so that you’re not panicking about what still needs to be done at any given point.
See Your Doctor Or Midwife If In Doubt

If you are in any doubt, at all about your pregnancy or if you think something is wrong, talk to your doctor or midwife sooner rather than later. Your gut is right most of the time, so if you think something isn’t quite right, it’s always best to get it checked out. Don’t feel like you are overreacting and don’t be afraid to speak medical advice because the life of your child is more important than anything else. It is more important to know that everything is okay and get checked out rather than waiting and something being wrong.
You’re Going To Be Really, Really Tired
Tiredness is just something that happens when you’re pregnant, and there’s nothing that you can do to avoid it. You’re going to be tired all the time no matter how much you sleep, no matter how much or how little you do. It’s going to be a nightmare to try and go about your daily life when you constantly feel like you need to take a nap, but it’s manageable, and we all get through it. You might find that you are taking more naps during the day than you would usually, but this is completely normal and nothing for you to worry about. Don’t panic about being tired, your body is literally growing another human and while to the outside world it might not look like much in the beginning, it’s a lot to do on top of everything else.
Keep in mind that you’ve got to rest when you get too tired. Your body is telling you something by making you feel sleepy, and you don’t want to put strain on it by ignoring the signals it is trying to give you.
You Are Not Eating For Two

Technically you are eating for two, but this does not mean that you have to double the amount of food you eat. In fact, you only need to add a couple hundred more calories to your diet per day for the extra person that you are carrying. You often hear people say that you need to eat enough for two people, and what they mean is that you need to eat enough for two grown people which is simply not the case at all. If you do this, you put yourself at risk for certain health conditions that you don’t want, so it’s highly advisable that you don’t do it at all.
It’s Worth It When The Baby Arrives
Finally, no matter what you go through in pregnancy, it’s going to be worth it when the baby arrives. It doesn’t matter how much pain you experienced through the course of the nine months or the delivery, or whatever worries you had when you weren’t sure what was going to happen, because when you hold your baby in your arms, you forget about it all. You might not think it’s possible, especially if you are having a tough pregnancy, but it pales in comparison to holding your son or daughter. There is nothing quite like it, and you’re going to thank yourself for putting up with the last nine months even though it was difficult.
We know it’s hard, and we know that there are probably going to be times where you just want to give up and scream at the world, but you’ll forget. We know that there will be days where you’re going to be in pain, and you can’t wait for it to be over, but you’ll forget. There’s something about looking into the eyes of your newborn that just takes all the stress, fear, pain and anxiety away and replaces it with nothing but love. You might not believe us right now, but in a couple of months, you’re going to know exactly what we’re talking about.
We hope that you have found this article helpful, and now understand some of the things you might want to know about being pregnant so that you don’t get caught off guard over the next few months. We wish you nothing but the best and a healthy pregnancy!
