Summer Jobs to Get Done Early
There are some jobs that you need to do in the home that should only ever be done in the warmer weather. Now that summer’s arrived, it’s hot and people are scheduling their vacations and they’re going out and having fun. You should also be taking advantage of the dry weather and getting some of the outdoor jobs done in the home.
From looking into roof replacement because it’s been broken since the last storm, ensuring that your screen doors and your decking are nice, there are plenty of jobs that you could be doing to ensure that your home stays looking great all year long not just in the summer. With that in mind, here are some of the summer jobs that you should get done as early as possible so that you can go and enjoy your summer.

- Your outdoor projects. Summer is the perfect time to go and get the landscapers in to get your laundry done. You can power wash the siding and update the front porch decorations, you can update the edging around the flower beds and trim any overgrown hedges. If you have a gravel driveway, you can start to replace the gravel that has been kicked out over the last year, and do a thorough cleaning of the carpet inside and out. If you’re going to be doing the linens in the home you’ll be able to hang them outside and save yourself the electricity bill when you are using the dryer usually. There are so many ways that you can go outside in the summer but make sure that you’re using the time for outdoor jobs too.
- Calling the pest controller. Inspecting the garden and the inside of your home for pests is a good idea right now because it’s dry. You can call in the pest control guys and get them to use non-toxic remedies across your outdoor space so that you can get rid of any roaches, ants and spiders without bombing out your home with harsh chemicals.
- Call the window cleaner. Patio doors and sliding doors are often both glass which means it is the best time ever to be able to get them cleaned and washed out without any issues. If your doors are sticking, use degreaser and rags to get a screwdriver to clean them out. Getting everything completely cleaned including the tracks of the door will insure that your home is ready for the winter months when the doors may swell and swell shut.
- Declutter. The summer months are the perfect time for a garage sale because the weather is warm and people are outside. That means they’re going to be walking past your home so they may stop to have a look to see what you are getting rid of in your latest garage sale. You can get rid of so much clutter as a result of a garage sale, so don’t knock it! You may be able to get rid of all the things that have been stored for the year.
