If you ever wanted to hike, the time is now!

Hikes can be classified according to the duration of completing it. From weekend hikes to week-long hikes, travel enthusiasts are trying all the possible hiking trails to get their dose of thrill and adventure.

Why not you reclaim your sense of adventure with one of these incredible routes in England? Read on to learn more about the hiking trails you must visit in 2020.

We all are clubbed with our life of work and Netflix. It’s a cycle for most of us, but there are some days (especially weekends) that can be used to trigger our inner adventure self.

If you’re planning to go on a hiking trail in 2020, I have a list of life-affirming getaways, which are packed with sprawling trails, sumptuous scenery, and rugged coastlines.

Let’s begin!

Hadrians Wall

No wonder this exists as one of the best hikes in England for the travelers who wish to combine gorgeous natural scenery with a slight touch of England’s history.

Considered to be a moderate 135-km trek, it allows you to experience a breathtaking journey from Wallsend to Bowness-on-Solway. Not to forget, through your entire route of the hike, you’ll be followed along the lines of Hadrian’s Wall, which in ancient times served as a Roman defensive fortification.

Note: there exists a misconception that Hadrian’s Wall marks the border between Scotland and England. But that’s not the case. Hadrian’s Wall actually is entirely in England.

Snowdon Horseshoe, Snowdonia

A bewitching hiking trail of mere 7 miles, which might take around 6 hours 30 minutes to complete.

The terrain you will come across here is highly interesting, and I would suggest you get all your trekking gear with you while heading to hike this ridge. You can begin with your hiking from the Pyg Track until you reach Bwich y Moch, where you can enjoy the views of Llyn Lyndaw and the miner’s causeway.

The hike entails numerous knife-edge crest and requires confidence to trail it. I would not recommend this hike to any novice hikers. Once you reach the summit, the route will narrow, and the sheer drop each side can be daunting or even exhilarating, depending on your experience and the weather conditions of the day.

The Lizard Coastal Walk

Listed as one of the best beaches in England, this 11 km stretched trek around the southern coast of Cornwall is definitely a treat to self.

You can enter the cove, through that you will traverse along the coastal cliff path, which is blanketed in an aromatic sea of heather blossoms. Moving forward, you will pass an abandoned Victorian before arriving at Lizard Lighthouse.

Although there’s glorious scenery that can be relished in this hike, you’ll also be accompanied by a plethora of wildlife all around you during the walk. When the journey ends, you will venture past Pistol Ogo Meadows, which marks the final resting place of over 200 souls who were drowned in 1720 when the Royal Anne wrecked on the rocks.

Fact: Many tourists have reported hearing strange echoing noises of people calling for help. It has gained an eerie reputation with these reports.

South West Coast Path (West Lulworth to Weymouth)

Are you interested in a hike that’s a day long! Try the South West Coast Path, it’s one of the longest national trails of Britain (630 miles). Completing this trail can earn you some pretty amazing views and hiking props.

The entire trail is an epic piece of adventure and will share endless escapades along the way.

For me, watching the white cliffs in Dorset morph slowly into the red in south Devon, and then fading to black when reaching Cornwall is undoubtedly a privilege that only a coastal traveler can experience. So, make sure you add this hiking trail to your list.

In the end, I must suggest that we don’t just begin hiking. Make sure you’re well prepared for it first. Always check the gear you might require during the hike. Make sure you keep all the essentials, depending on the type of hike you’re heading to.

Don’t forget to keep foldable Perkin knives with you. They are the most functional tool while you go on a hike.

I hope this blog was helpful to you! Do you know any other hike that must be covered in this blog, do share it with me in the comments section?

Happy Trailing!
