Our Wonderful Week: Back to reality! 6/52

This week has a been a bit of a strange one arriving back from New York on Tuesday and straight into our daily routine with the kids. Lewis and I both suffered massively with jet lag, something I’ve never experienced before, and spent the first couple of days utterly exhausted, uncontrollably spinning and totally confused over what day and time it was! It was absolutely worth it but jet lag is definitely not something I wish to repeat any time soon!

This weekend has been a real mixed bag starting with a birthday party yesterday for Megan, a rare occasion these days compared to Reception Year when there seemed to be one, if not two, parties every weekend!

Yesterday afternoon we made the most of the dry weather with a trip to the park so the children could ride their bikes and burn off some energy at the playground. It was a huge change from last weekend when we were seeing the sights in New York and yet I do love being at home with the kids, pottering around the house, getting out in the fresh air and just spending time together.

Storm Ciara hit in the early hours and today has been a complete wash to as a result! The weather is utterly horrendous and the children are literally going stir crazy! So far we have baked (horrendous!), painted (so much mess!) and watched three films from start to finish whilst bickering non-stop. As far as Sunday’s go it hasn’t been the greatest and yet sometimes, you can’t win them all!
