Making Christmas magical with the International Elf Service ** WIN**
If there’s one thing I remember the most about Christmas as a child it’s that my Mum always went above and beyond to make it as magical as possible. As a result I must have been almost eleven before I even started to question whether Father Christmas was real and I knew that when I had children of my own I would do everything in my power to do the same, and I do.
My biggest worry in the lead up to our first ever Christmas during a pandemic was that many of the lovely things we do to make December special won’t be able to go ahead, and I hate to think that any of the Christmas magic will be lost as a result of that. So when I was introduced to the International Elf Service, the most wonderful, magical brand and website offering a range of Christmas Elf Letters (as well as Tooth Fairy and Birthday Letters!), I knew that it would be the perfect way to keep the magic alive whilst staying safe at home.
We were sent the International Elf Service Elfie’s Christmas Advent Letters Ultimate Story Bundle, the original Gold Award winning, personalised Christmas Advent Calendar, consisting of 25 stunning, hand illustrated, eco-friendly and personalised Christmas Elf letters from the North Pole! On top of that you get a personalised letter from Father Christmas for children to mysteriously find around their home throughout December.
Winning the Gold Award Toy Shop UK’s Independent Toy Awards 2020 Best Advent Calendar and shortlisted for the prestigious Junior Design Awards 2020/2021 Best Innovative Toy Design, I had high expectations for our bundle and it surpassed every single one.
How does it work?
The idea is that in the lead up to 1st December you can leave the certificate and the map of the village in the North Pole somewhere around your home for the children to discover and let them know they have been randomly selected to receive these magical letters.
The certificate and the map look so authentic and you can either choose to roll them up and hide them as a scroll or pop them into one of the personalised envelopes for the children to open.

From the 1st December you can hide a new Advent letter each day which the children can discover to read a magical tale of adventure, fun, pranks from the North Pole and, above all, magic. Each part of the story is told from one day to the next so as the days go on the children will begin to anticipate what happens next therefore building the suspense and excitement!
One of my favourite things about International Elf Service is that it doesn’t focus on behaviour or a naughty or nice list. Instead they focus on family traditions, promoting family time, igniting imagination and creating childhood memories to treasure forever, and I absolutely love that.
If, like my children inevitably will, your child decides to write back to the Elves and expect a letter back in return, you also get an emergency response letter to leave out for the children too. I absolutely love this, they really have thought of everything!
On Christmas Eve night you can leave out a personalised Letter from Father Christmas as well as a feed back form from the Sleigh’s In-Flight notebook which you can complete and leave out for your children to discover on Christmas morning. I know Harry will adore this, especially if we tick that the drink we left out was “burp making”.
On Christmas Day night it’s time for the last letter which tells you what happened in the North Pole on Christmas Day and ties up any loose ends from the story. I absolutely love the message to the children about kindness and spending time together as a family. I always tell the children that as lovely as it is for them to have physical gifts each year, the best gift we could ever ask for is each other.
For those, like us, trying to be more eco-friendly, you’ll be pleased to know that the letters are created using 100% recycled paper and renewable twine, while the eco-friendly personalised brown envelope bundles are bound with rustic jute twine. Wrapped beautifully in sustainable boxes, the letters and envelopes sit upon natural wood-filler spirals made from pine and spruce excess from managed forests (or wood shavings from the Elvesβ workshop!) and finished with soft, cotton Candy Cane cord for an extra dollop of festive delight!
With each letter beautifully illustrated and as authentic as can be, I am already beside myself with excitement at the thought of the children’s faces when they discover their very first letter. At 6, 7 and 8, Harry, Megan and Eva are firm believers in Father Christmas, Elves, Fairies and all things magical, and I know that they are going to love every single moment of hunting out these letters and reading them together.
The great thing is that this doesn’t have to be a one time experience for the children, the letters change every year with new stories and illustrations so that you can buy the same bundle year after year and enjoy a different adventure every time. I already know this is going to be something we will repeat year after year for as long as possible and I’m just so sad that we didn’t hear about it sooner!
You can find out more about this letter bundle as well as all of the other packages via the International Elf Service website here.Β
