Our Wonderful Week: New York, New York!! 5/52

After a difficult start to the year with us all feeling poorly, 2020 has clawed it back and we have had the most incredible week of all time. I always promised Lewis that when I turned 40 and he turned 16 we would go to New York and finally, at long last, our turn came around. I’d love to tell you that we thought long and hard about whether to take the three little ones with us but in truth, we knew it just wasn’t an option. So with them at their Grandparents for the week, Gaz, Lewis and I boarded the plane with high hopes and big dreams, and New York surpassed every single one of them.

We spent five jam packed days in the city of dreams, felt all of the emotions at the 9/11 memorial museum, sailed over to Liberty Island to climb the Statue of Liberty, walked the length of Brooklyn bridge and watched our very first basket ball game.

We cycled around Central Park, visited museums, did bus tours, admired the view from the Top of the Rock, the Empire State Building and saw the most incredible show on Broadway. We ate hot dogs from street stands, rode in yellow cabs and spotted familiar scenes, and we loved every single second of sharing such an amazing experience together, just quality time with Lewis, something we rarely get to do at all these days.

And now here we are, back home and jet lagged, but with so many memories to treasure for always. One thing’s for sure though, I left a little piece of my heart right there in New York, the most incredible, exciting and impressive place I have been in my whole life! I can’t wait to share it with you all!!
