I always find once September comes around the children’s thoughts switch from Summer and go directly to the next major event in their calendar – Halloween. I don’t know what it is about Halloween but I swear they find it just as exciting as Christmas, talking about it for weeks in advance, and planning their outfits, the school disco and Trick or Treating on a daily basis!
Last year was a bit of a wash out with trick or treating banned, the school disco cancelled, and another national lockdown looming, so this year I am more than determined to make up for it and make their Halloween as special as possible.

My teenager had an awful year last academic year last year. They’ve picked themselves up and they are starting again this year, despite all the obstacles in their way. They start every day with the aim to be positive and they are trying so hard that I, someone who never cries, get a bit emosh every morning when they leave for college. They spent their early years living in a country that doesn’t have Halloween, so when they came to the UK, they LOVED it.
