Growing up I can still remember my first journal, around seven years old, and how every night before bed I would sit and write in it, or draw pictures, to document my day in very much the same way I do now. I have always loved writing, and found it hugely therapeutic throughout my life, and will encourage my children to do the same as they grow.
Lorna Park, a female entrepreneur and Mum of two, knows all about the importance of journalling, alongside promoting positivity in tweens and teens, and did this through her book, the first of it’s kind in the UK, “My Great Big Positive Life for Tweens and Teens“. Consisting of a 3 in 1 Book, Journal and Planner and is described as “putting together the basic principles of Positive Psychology, Growth Mindset and Mindfulness in a friendly way to show its readers that by creating positive daily habits now they can support their mental health and wellbeing into the future.”
Following the success of her children’s journal she has recently become a best-selling author after releasing the Parents Edition of her Positive Psychology Life Book, aimed to help parents to support their children’s’ positive mindset through new emotional challenges as they journey their growth into adulthood. The My Great Big Positive Life for Parents book is available to buy here on amazon at £10.99.
Lorna believes there is a need to help children and their parents tune out from the increasingly stressful, noisy world they are now living in. She said: “Journalling has become increasingly popular in recent years, possibly as we crave space and time away from all the tech we are surrounded with. There’s definitely something about putting pen to paper that allows us to fully express ourselves and connect deeply with our thoughts and feelings”.
Both covering topics such as gratitude, affirmations, happiness, resilience, emotions and feelings, connection, growth mindset, goal setting, meditation, creativity and kindness and featuring inspiring stories from the likes of Oprah and Ed Sheeran, alongside Charlie’s own story.
Lorna has very kindly offered to give away a copy of My Great Big Positive Life for Tweens and Teens, RRP £24.99, to one lucky winner. To enter simply follow the link below and the winner will be chosen at random and notified via email at close of giveaway on 28th July. Good luck!
