After the success of our giveaway last year with Mermaid Gin and Mermaid Vodka. I’m delighted to share a second chance to win a bottle of each and believe me, if you’ve not already tried them, you’ll love them!
Mermaid Gin
From the Isle of Wight’s only distillery, Mermaid Gin is a hand crafted small batch gin distilled using ten ethically sourced botanicals. Mermaid features the freshness of organic lemon zest, the peppery notes in grains of paradise and a hint of sea air from fragrant rock samphire. It also uses Boadicea Hops grown in Ventnor’s botanical garden.
The really unique thing about Mermaid Gin is the beautifully presented bottle in a gorgeous design with sculpted scales that reflect and retract light. The scales swirl downwards around the bottle to resemble the tale of a mermaid while the colours mimic the gin-clear blues of the Mediterranean. It really is stunning!!
More importantly the bottle is plastic free and 100% recyclable featuring an all natural cork and biodegradable seal. The distillery has also demanded all its suppliers accept new sustainability challenges such as stopping the use of bubble wrap and souring alternatives at every stage of production and distribution.
Mermaid Salt Vodka
Also from the Isle of Wight Distillery is the Mermaid Salt Vodka, infused with island sea salt for a uniquely smooth finish and flavour ‘like the subtle kiss of a mermaid’. The salt comes from the local supplier “Wight Salt” and is harvester from water collected in the powerful flood tide off the islands southern coast. With the salt enhancing the other flavours, the vodka is the perfect drink to enjoy alone or for use in cocktails and gives a delicious savoury taste.
In the Mermaid signature bottle, completely plastic free as with the gin bottles, it looks as good as it tastes and it’s just such a gorgeous bottle to showcase in your home – I love seeing mine on our drinks stand and how it catches the light when the sun shines in.
The Mermaid Gin is 40% ABV and retails at £40. Available in John Lewis and online via Master of Malt.

I have heard of Mermaid Gin before- and think the bottle is super-pretty – but haven’t found it in any of my local supermarkets yet. Mind you I do live ‘oop North’ and these things can take a while to filter through!

Yes, it’s my local gin & It’s delicious! I especially like the pink gin, yet to try the vodka. The bottles are works of art on their own, I have a few which look great with lights in.
