As I have been sharing here on the blog, this year I am taking part in a 52 Books Challenge to read at least one book each week and make some time purely for myself at the end of each day. I love reading, it’s a way for me to relax and to escape, but I also find that the more I read the more I am inspired to write too which, given my job, is always a good thing!
So this year I dusted off my Kindle, downloaded some titles to get started, and I’m hoping I can not only achieve my target but I can smash it, maybe even twice over. I love that reading doesn’t have to be an expensive hobby and although I have downloaded several titles on my Kindle this year, I also signed up for a 30 day trial from Kindle Unlimited which means I can read as many books as I like in January for free! As well as my Kindle I’ve been picking up books in the charity shop and organising book swaps with friends.
I’ve found myself switching off the television at night and settling down with a new book, or going to bed earlier and reading for an hour, and it’s surprised me just how many books I can get through when I stop wasting time scrolling through Netflix or messing on my phone! hard to pick a fave book but any of the thrillers from Harlan Coben would get my vote

I am just re-reading the Harry Potter books and got to say I do love them a lot. Other favourites are Pride and Prejudice, The Faraway Tree Stories by Enid Blyton (still think these are great for kids and have my original copy on my shelf) and The Queen and I by Sue Townsend is a great funny read. Just so hard to choose one favourite. I love reading so much.
