Saving our sanity with EasySMX Headset

If you’d asked me a few years ago if my youngest three would have iPads at three, four and five, I’d have told you over my dead body. Fast forward three years and it’s a very different story, because as much as I prefer them to be outdoors or playing with their toys, there are moments throughout the day when I need just five minutes peace to make the dinner or hoover round, and the iPad actually comes in pretty useful.

I would say there are days when the iPad has saved my sanity, or at least it used to………before my children discovered Kids YouTube.

Wow was that a game changer!!

If you’ve ever sat through seventy billion hours of Johnny Johnny then you’ll know exactly what I’m talking about, and it seems I’m not alone in my suffering. I asked a group of parent bloggers what’s the worst things their children listen to on YouTube…..

“For us it’s those toy reviews on YouTube, with the annoying high pitched voices! They make millions too! How!?” –  Motherhood diaries.

“The monkeys jumping on that damn bed – we all know how it’s going to end! Yes they fall off!!” – Then there were three.

Ryan’s toy reviews!! I am sick of hearing those parents voices it drives me insane. When I hear the intro I tell him to go and watch it in his bedroom!” – Raw Childhood.

Cookie Swirl C – her voice is the most annoying thing ever. I don’t know how her partner puts up with it. She sounds like a chipmunk!” – Mummy Alarm.

“My little girl watches another little girl play with her Elsa and Anna dolls. Why she can’t just play with her own dolls??” – Arepops.

“FGTeeV. The entire family drives me crazy, we’ve actually put a ban on YouTube for now because we just can’t cope with the idiocy for any longer.” – Chammy Irl.

“Videos of people playing Minecraft and Roblox, videos of annoying American women opening toys and saying “OMG that’s soooo awesome”, videos of annoying precocious kids pretending they’re breaking into toy shops at 3am and videos of people pranking each other. YouTube is the bane of my life!!” – Digital Motherhood.

Blippi – if I hear the unicorn song one more time I think I may chuck the TV out the window!” – Pushing the moon

‘”The Finger Family……seriously, look it up if you haven’t watched it before. It makes me want to hide in a dark and quiet room!” – Miracle Max.

The answer? You’ve guessed it – invest in a decent pair of children’s headphones like this pair from EasySMX. With an adjustable headband and soft ear pads, they are super comfortable and can be used with all portable devices that feature a 3.5mm stereo jack output.

I love that the headset features an auto limited volume, to protect your kids’ hearing, at 80-85dB and the lightweight structure makes them perfect for traveling and outdoor learning.

And best of all? For just £14.99 it means that I still get those moments of peace without having to listen to a single moment of Johnny Johnny or the Finger Family!! Now that’s what I call a real win!!

These look brilliant, I have to send my kids in to another room to watch their youtube videos, but that doesn’t feel good as then I can’t keep an eye on them, much prefer the idea of them using these so I can still watch over them, in silence!!

These look like great headphones for the younger ones, luckily I am past the days of annoying you tube clips or minecraft videos, how they find any of it entertaining I do not know.

      December 8, 2017 / 11:16 pm

Hahah I know! I sit there thinking how on earth are you enjoying this?! xx

  12. December 8, 2017 / 7:35 pm

Most headphones are made of such flimsy plastic they break in no time. The picture of these ones being twisted and still being in one piece is pretty impressive.

    • Laura Dove
      December 8, 2017 / 11:14 pm

Yes I think when they are aimed at children they need to be able to withstand a little rough and tough! xx

  13. December 8, 2017 / 11:55 pm

How lovely are those headphones, they seem like they are the perfect thing to keep sound down from iPads 🙂

  14. December 9, 2017 / 12:59 am

Oh these headsets are so cute and adorable, I really wanted one for my growing son , mostly need while we travel. Shall look out.

  15. December 9, 2017 / 6:39 am

What a cool looking set of headphones. The most awesome thing us that they protect children’s hearing x

  16. December 9, 2017 / 7:27 am

Yes, the electronic Nanny certainly does come in handy frequently! These headphones are a great idea! In my house it’s seventy billion hours of Dan DTN and Minecraft You Tube videos. Why?! Just…. why?!!

  17. December 9, 2017 / 8:02 am

This headset is perfect for my niece! It looks nice and she will love the color.

  18. December 9, 2017 / 8:25 am

Eliza breaks her headphones and have no idea how – she has gone through 3 pairs this year – these look great

  19. December 9, 2017 / 8:28 am

These are a really good price and Lucas would love them. I always thought I wouldn’t give him an iPad but at 2 and half he knows exactly how to work it and I think a good balance of technology, toys and outdoor play has to be a good thing x

  20. December 9, 2017 / 10:36 am

hahah that is a real win! I love the soft ear pads and that it’s protective against your children’s hearing with the limited volume control.

The headsets are lovely and so suited for little girls with that bright pink princess color. The soft ear pads are definitely a plus as we all know how uncomfortable headsets can be after wearing them for a longer time.

Wow, this really looks great and I really love the color! I should order a 1 pair of this headset

  23. December 9, 2017 / 3:26 pm

Those are super cute headset for children! The pink color is so adorable. I love how it has soft ear pads so that kids are comfortable to use it. I think it’s great gift for kids who travels in airplane and listen and watch their favorite animation!

  24. December 9, 2017 / 5:23 pm

I love this headset, I love the color! This is great for traveling families that have kids, keep them occupied with their own headset.

  25. December 9, 2017 / 6:03 pm

These headphones look like an awesome Christmas gift idea for people with kids lol. And the price is not bad at all.

  26. December 10, 2017 / 3:28 am

Oh my gosh, how I can relate to this! Sponge Bob was the worst, although Barney and the Chipmunks are right up there with him. While my kids are all grown-up now, my husband has headphones that he puts on when he listens to scary movies or things I just don’t have the stomach for. It makes our marriage just a little happier! xx

  27. December 10, 2017 / 10:35 am

I was like you Laura, swore Jasper wouldn’t be allowed on any devices, and then this year (he’s five) we found times when it worked out OK and when I discovered that his eyes didn’t blur over and his brain didn’t auto destruct, I let go of my hang ups and allowed it at times. But yes, the noise can be annoying. He likes to turn the volume up, so anything I am doing doesn’t interfere with his time. Charmed I’m sure. Having kid friendly headphones is a great idea. Wonderful that they have a volume control, and the price is great.
ps. The worst thing I have ever had to listen to was Gecko’s garage!!! Drove me to the edge!

  28. December 10, 2017 / 3:03 pm

Love that the headphones are safe for their ears – I’m constantly telling mine they’ve got the volume up too loud. And yes, I smile and say nothing when childless couples I know tell me they’re never going to let their children play on an iPad in a restaurant!

  29. December 10, 2017 / 3:38 pm

Ha..ha.. so sorry you poor parents who are forced to listen to kids YouTube! But am glad you found just the right thing to cut out the noise and it’s great it is a safe for kids as well. Cute post 🙂
    Thanks for sharing.

I like this idea of having kid safe headsets for both my mini-me’s. I’m all about saving my sanity (the little I have left, HA!) thanks for sharing ; )

  31. December 10, 2017 / 4:54 pm

To be honest, I’m not quite ok with them watching You tube if I don’t hear it, because you never know what could pop up over there. But I love those headphones for when they’re playing games, cause apparently it is not a real game if the volume is not turned on on maximum.??

  32. December 10, 2017 / 7:03 pm

These look good and would be perfect for a car journey! I have to look into these because my little guy NEEDS some headphones, his game noises are very grating

  33. December 10, 2017 / 11:10 pm

It looks like your kids are enjoying these, it sounds like a great way to keep the kids busy when you just need a few minutes!

Ha ha! Good round up! I’ve heard similar complaints from moms including the unboxing videos! Great idea – the headphones!

      December 11, 2017 / 4:48 pm

Hah the unboxing videos are quite exhausting!! xx

  35. December 11, 2017 / 11:14 am

Bingo, finally I have found a pair for my daughter for Christmas. I hate the ones that go in your ear and this is perfect for when we travel.

    • Laura Dove
      December 11, 2017 / 3:07 pm

Oh me too, they aren’t comfortable for kids! These are perfect for travel! xx

  36. December 11, 2017 / 11:44 am

This is such a cute headset! I am a huge fan of the now, reduced sound earphones for our children. Those wee dials are so easily turned when the volume can be adjusted, can’t they! So it’s great with these we don’t have to worry about that.

    • Laura Dove
      December 11, 2017 / 3:06 pm

They are fab, the girls love them so much I’ve ordered a second pair! xx

  37. December 11, 2017 / 2:37 pm

Oh wow, I bet they’re preventing a lot of stress over the Christmas period. Kids shows can be sooooo irritating, they’re super loud. I love that they’re pink too 🙂

I hate admitting that I too have used the ipad to entertain my child but lets face it, digital entertainment is what our entire society loves. I’m not into enjoying it like they are so I love the idea of headphones and these headphones are just too cute! Not a bad price either.

      December 11, 2017 / 9:04 pm

I think we all use the ipads occasionally and that’s absolutely fine, whatever it takes to get through the day right? xx

  39. December 11, 2017 / 5:27 pm

I don’t get the fascination of my nephew watching other kids play with their toys on youtube instead of playing with his own toys, it buffs me big time. I think we need to get him these head phones for sure

  40. December 11, 2017 / 5:55 pm

These headphones are the cutest! I don’t have kids, but these would make such a great gift!
