7 ways to pamper yourself this Mother’s Day

As a Mum of five I always look forward to Mother’s Day coming around, the one day of the year when I can be completely self-indulgent and pamper myself with that inevitable Mum guilt! I think as Mums we rarely prioritise ourselves and so having a dedicated day just for us is definitely something to make the most of! Pampering yourself can be something as simple as taking a long soak in a bubble bath to tucking into a new book, I have seven easy ways to pamper yourself this Mother’s Day.

1. Treat yourself to some new pyjamas

Nothing makes me happier than a new pair of pyjamas and anyone who knows me will tell you, I am completely obsessed with the Chelsea Peers range. I love the bright colours and the soft fabrics and I swear just putting them on can lift my mood in an instant. At this time of year when Spring still feels like it’s never going to arrive, snuggling up in a new pair of pyjamas is exactly what we need, even more so when you put on your favourite movie and enjoy some peace and quiet!

2. Show your feet some love

I love giving myself a little home pedicure with a long foot soak, a hydrating foot mask and painting my nails a lovely bright colour to remind me that open toe-shoes will soon be coming back around. Slipping my feet into a fluffy pair of slippers is the best way to finish off a good pamper and my UGG Slippers are by far my best ever purchase yet. They are the softest, fluffiest, warmest slippers imaginable and no matter where I am in the world, I always look forward to coming home to them.

3. Get cosy and warm

My favourite way to pamper myself will always be to get cosy and warm, whether that’s to soak in the bath, wrap myself in a heated blanket, snuggle up in bed or put on my favourite Chelsea Peers fleece dressing gown. I love that feeling of being cocooned in cosiness, it’s such a comforting feeling and really helps me to relax when I feel like I have so much to get done as a parent.

4. Light a scented candle

It’s such a simple way to pamper yourself but lighting a scented candle never fails to help me relax, switch off and just take a moment to breathe. Just the act of lighting the candle and dimming the lights is so therapeutic and the scents always take me back to particular moments and memories. I love Yankee Candle and the various scents but this vanilla creme brulee may well be my favourite.

5. Curl your hair

I rarely get time to pamper myself at all these days so when I do I like to make sure I treat myself from top to bottom. I love curling my hair but find it’s so time consuming ordinarily. Recently I’ve been using a heatless curler which I can put in at night, sleep in, and wake up to gorgeous natural curls without damaging your hair with heat appliances.

6. Treat yourself to a box of chocolates

Is there anything more indulgent than breaking out a box of chocolates and not having to share them with the kids? I am obsessed with the Hotel Chocolat range but their Mother’s Day collection has excelled itself this year. From fudge sundaes to Millionaire’s shortbread, Pistachio to Peanut Butter, they are so delicious and the perfect way to enjoy some alone time.

7. Get away for the night

If all else fails and you just can’t find the time to pamper yourself at home, book a night away! Whether it’s a spa hotel or a country cottage, having that time away can do you, and the kids, the world of good. I love packing up my Cath Kidston overnight bag and heading off just for 24 hours and I honestly feel like a new woman as a result.

So there you have it, seven easy ways to pamper yourself this Mother’s Day. How will you be pampering yourself?
