A night in with Belle
With Megan leaving pre-school this week ready to start “big school” in September, I had promised her that we would have a lovely treat together just the two of us. When the lovely people at Jakks Pacific offered us the opportunity to have a Night in with Belle, to tie in with the release of Beauty & The Beast this week, it was the perfect treat for Megan and I.
The girls have loved Beauty & The Beast from a young age, watching the original movie on repeat until we knew it word for word. We were the first at the cinema when the new film was released and the girls, and I, were completely and utterly bowled over by the movie. In that way, Belle fast became the girls favourite Disney princess and all round heroine.
Along with the movie we were sent Ballroom Belle, the most gorgeous 14″ doll in her iconic yellow dress and tree of life pendant necklace. I instantly knew that for Megan, one of her favourite things would be Belle’s hair. My girls love any doll with long hair which they can brush and style.
Megan was over the moon when she saw her treat and, after discovering that Belle’s shoes and necklace could be removed, I knew exactly what was coming….
As much as my children love to be naked, they love for their toys to be naked too, and Megan’s face was hilarious when she discovered that Belle was sporting a pair of bright yellow knickers!!!
“I am the Beast!!”, Megan announced, once she had re-dressed her doll, “Shall we dance?”
With articulated arms and legs Megan was happy that Belle could settle down beside her whilst they watched the movie together, and it was so lovely to see her acting out the scenes with her doll throughout the film!
When I asked Megan what she thought of the movie the second time around, she told me, “It was the best film I’ve ever seen in my whole life!”. In all honesty, I had to agree – it’s one of my all time favourites and literally gave me goosebumps from start to finish.
We loved our night in with Belle and Megan has completely fallen in love with her Belle doll. I have promised her that before she starts school in September I will buy her a Belle dress of her own so that the two of them will match. They are going to look super adorable together!!

I always loved Beauty and the Beast, actually I loved anything Disney. I think, even now, if I was to get that doll I’d be absolutely in love so I understand how Megan felt! It sounds like a lovely way to bond with the littles ones 🙂

Aw how lovely! My girl would have loved this doll, and Belle is one of her favourite princesses – I think it’s all the reading. Mind you, even at 12, I think she’d still secretly love a night on the sofa watching Disney princess movies with her mum.

Aww, Megan and Belle are so cute! Beauty and the Beast has always been my favourite Disney film, I’m so pleased they remade it and it’s all trendy again! Belle looks great too, I love the size of her, and her big yellow knickers too! I hope you have many more rewatches ahead of you. My sister and I tried it with our boys last week to very limited success…
Ohhh maybe in a year or two they will be more interested, Harry isn’t overly interested though either! It’s such a fab movie, I am hooked! xx
I love the movie and I was a kid my favourite dolls were always the one with long hair, not sure why!! But I think it just makes us feel like a real princess, X
I agree, I was the same! I loved brushing their hair, although it pains me when the girls do it to their dolls as they like to tangle them all up! ha! xx

The Beauty and the Beast is such a classic! I have literally just seen the last version made on the train to London, a couple of weeks ago. I loved it like the first time I’ve seen it, when I was a child. It’s such a heartwarming story about the importance of a beautiful soul.
I totally felt the same, it’s such a gorgeous movie and I love what it stands for too. Beauty is so much more than outward appearance. xx

Aw, Megan looks so besotted with Belle. Our boys love movie toys too. We are always commenting that there was nowhere near as much merchandising around when we were kids.

The new movie was great for sure. I loved the couple new songs that they had in the live action movie. I actually saw it at a sing-a-long which was a whole lot of fun. My daughter and I had a great time watching it.

I remember being taken to see the Original Beauty and the Beast for my Birthday when it came out with my Friends and I’ve loved the movie ever since! I’ve not managed to see the new live-action remake but I can’t wait to!
