5 reasons why you need the Oculus Meta Quest 2 VR for your family games nights!

At this time of year there is nothing we love more than a cosy family games night although with a range of ages from 8 to 18, it’s often difficult to find games which entertain all four children. We recently introduced the Oculus Meta Quest 2 VR to the kids and not only was it an instant hit with all ages, but it has added such a fun and exciting element to our games night, here’s five reasons why.

1. It’s easy to set up and play

When you’ve got kids the last thing you want is a lengthy and complex process to set up a game and with the Oculus Meta Quest 2, once you’ve connected via your Facebook account, you can literally pick it up and play. Plus even better, because of the small size and the fact you don’t need to link it to a PC or gaming machine, you can take it anywhere you go which is perfect for travel and spending time with extended family and friends.

2. Fast performance and next gen-graphics

The Oculus Meta Quest 2 128GN is the most advanced all-in-one VR system yet and has an incredible display with 50% more pixels than the original Quest! It has a blazing-fast processor so the game play can be as fast as you like and it fully immerses you into a virtual reality like no other. It really does have to be seen to be believed! Plus the 128GB model features 4x more storage, letting you keep more games and experiences on your device at one time which means the fun can be endless.

3. Experience new things

Our absolute favourite thing about the Oculus Meta Quest 2 is that you can experience so many new things together as a family such as games, dance classes and even workouts. One minute you can be flying a plane and the next racing a car, riding a roller coaster one day and a mountain bike the next. You can even travel the world with the VR headset and see places that would ordinarily be completely out of reach! Games nights have never been so exciting!

4. Educational but fun

As a parent I am all for games which are fun but also have an educational twist. I think children always learn more when they’re having fun and the Oculus Quest 2 gives all of that in abundance. Both adults and children can learn new skills be that golf, tennis, surfing, 3D art and so much more. Our children are loving learning new skills and then putting them into practice in the real world too!

5. Access 100’s of game

For those who want to expand on their gaming you can connect the VR headset to a gaming-compatible computer with an Oculus Link cable (sold separately) to access hundreds of PC VR games and experiences. We love that there is always something new to play or experience together so that our family games nights are different every week. The children love discovering what’s in store every time we have a games night and although they have their favourites, they have enjoyed every single game and experience we’ve tried so far!

We are enjoying every minute of our Oculus Meta Quest 2 games nights and over the next few months especially, as the weather gets colder and greyer outside, you will find us here at home “travelling” in the warmth, keeping active in our own four walls, and having a whole lot of fun together in the process.

Have you tried the Oculus Meta Quest 2 yet?
