What To Look For In A UK Wedding Venue: Tips For Happy Couples
Finding the perfect wedding venue for the big day can be a difficult process. Especially when there a so many fantastic places, from chapels and country houses to barns and castles. And many couples have a strict list of ‘must haves’ that the wedding venue they choose … must have, which makes it even harder! So, if you’re looking for a wedding venue but don’t know how to narrow it down, here are a few of our tips to help the happy couple out regarding what to look for when searching for venues:
- Stick To Your Budget: When searching for venues, it can be so tempting to go over your budget for a venue that you’ve fallen in love with. And by all means, sometimes it’s worth taking the risk if you really feel great about a location. But you’ve got a wedding budget for a reason and spending more than that was expected on a wedding venue means you have to sacrifice something else further down the line. So, try and find a venue within your budget, there’s plenty of price friendly places out there!
- Visit More Than Once: Always visit your venue more than once. Booking a wedding venue can be quite a bit of money, so it’s always great to ensure that it’s definitely the location of your dreams. And you may pick up things on other visits that you didn’t in the first one in all the excitement!
- Make Sure It Fits Your Theme: Making sure the wedding venue you choose can accommodate your vision is so important. Granted, most venues now like to promote themselves as ‘blank canvas’ venues, meaning they can accommodate any theme, no matter how big or small. However, if your theme is quite extravagant, you may want to make sure that your chosen venue is ok with it beforehand, saving any disappointment!
- Think About Your Guest List: Keep your guest list in mind when it comes to choosing your wedding venue. Is it exclusive use? Is there on-site accommodation and is that needed? Is there enough space for all of the guests you plan to invite? And the list goes on, so keep this in mind whilst walking around the venue. You want all of your guests to be as comfortable as possible (and they will be don’t panic)!
- Consider The Location: This goes without saying, but the location of your wedding venue is very important. Think about the accommodation around it. The surrounding towns and cities for you and your guests to explore. And what travelling to the venue will be like for your guests. Finding somewhere that isn’t far from a nice town to explore is always great if you’re looking to extend your wedding celebrations. And of course, going abroad for your wedding is more expensive, so keep that in mind!
As you can probably tell, we love searching for wedding venues as much as the next person. But we have to admit, it does help to follow these tips, as narrowing the list down can be a hard process. We hope this little bit of advice helps you to find the venue of your dreams – happy searching!
