Profitable Online Careers for Women

It doesn’t matter whether you’re looking for a career change, or you want to start something new to supplement your current income, getting an online job is a great idea. And there’s certainly no shortage of options, from streaming on a cam site, to working as a developer, and anything in between.

The problem arises when you try to identify which of these online careers are actually viable and profitable, because you can’t just make money out of thin air – you need a profitable option. And with that in mind, here are a few profitable online careers for women who want a bit of extra income.

Blogging

You probably already know where the idea for this comes from, but starting a blog nowadays can be a pretty good way of getting some extra income down the road. Now, let’s get one thing out of the way – starting a blog isn’t a way to get a lot of money quickly. Instead, it’s an investment in your future that can easily turn into a passive source of income if you do things right.

The first step is to make a list of things you’re passionate about and would like to write about. Choosing a niche you’re actually passionate about will ensure that you don’t get bored of it quickly. Instead, you’ll be writing on topics that pique your interest, and you also get the opportunity to learn things that interest you. Note that it should be something people are curious about, as your goal is to get good engagement.

Then, you should set up your blog and start writing. At first, you probably won’t get too many readers unless for some reason you go viral on day one. But that shouldn’t hurt your motivation, because as we said, you’re playing the long game. By being constant with good, high quality content, you’ll find that your engagement is starting to grow. And eventually, you’ll have enough people visiting and you’ll be able to monetize your blog. There is more than one way to do this, and which one you choose is up to you.

If you’ve reached that point, it might be a good idea to hire someone that maintains your blog. This allows you to go for a hands-off approach, and effectively turn the blog into a passive income!

Dropshipping

Despite what people think, dropshipping isn’t dead – far from it. People are turning to online shopping as much as possible nowadays, which means that starting such an order fulfilment business has a good chance of turning into a successful venture. Of course, this is provided you know what you’re doing, and have the patience for it.

Dropshipping is all about you creating a store where people can buy something which you don’t actually have in stock. It works by having suppliers who do have the product, and instead of you buying it then reselling it, they ship it directly to your customers. This means you don’t have to invest in buying the product and keeping stock, but you get slightly less profits.

What many people don’t know is that the key to dropshipping is identifying the right products and target market, and keeping customer satisfaction high. Your customers are basically the judges who decide whether or not you’ll be selling your products, and if they’re happy, you’ll have people buying things constantly. If not, word of mouth and reviews will be the bane of your store’s existence.

With dropshipping, similarly to blogging, it’s all about being successful in the long run. If you keep at it, you’ll find that the investments you made in setting up the store and marketing it to customers are more than worth it, and will return quickly.

Makeup Tutorials

If you’re good at doing your own makeup, why not try your hand at teaching someone else how to do that, too? You’d be surprised at how many women don’t really know how to put makeup the right way, and end up not being satisfied with the results. But you can change that.

Of course, this does require that you’re comfortable in front of the camera, but if you are, you can record tutorials that teach other women everything, from the basics, to more complicated makeup. Make sure you do actually know what you’re doing, because that’s going to be key if you want to make it big.

Here’s a tip that will increase your chances of success – try to be different. There are so many makeup artists who give a good explanation of the basics and foundation, but not a lot of them focus on more complicated and more interesting types of makeup. If you know how to do complex, colorful looks that actually look stunning, that can actually massively increase your chance of success. And that’s not something to be underrated!
