Our Garden Makeover Wish List ** WIN **

Four years ago when we moved into our house we told ourselves that at the first sign of Spring we would renovate our back garden. Four years later and we still haven’t got round to it, but this year we are determined to finally make a start! Throughout a long, cold Winter I’ve had plenty of time to compile our garden makeover wish list, and thanks to Argos we are raring to go at the first sign of sun!

Having discovered Codesium.com, I have been able to use discount codes to make a few purchases to start our garden makeover, and I’m hoping we can save enough to have the garden completely finished before the start of the Summer months!

During the warmer months we are never out of the garden, spending our days playing, cooking and eating out there. There’s nothing better than lounging in the sun while the children play together, and for that reason the main item on my wish list was somewhere comfy to lounge on! This gorgeous 3 seater rattan effect mini corner sofa would be the perfect place for Gaz and I to put our feet up and watch the kids run wild! And the best part is that if the British Summertime disappoints, using code FURN20,  for 20% off Argos indoor furniture, we can make sure we are just as comfortable inside and out!

Top of the garden wishlist for the children is a wooden teepee and this one looks amazing! At £419.99 it doesn’t come cheap but I also know they would get hours of fun out of it and it would last for years!

A garden necessity in this country is a garden heater, and I love the look, and heating properties, of a Chimenea. This La Hacienda Steel Chimenea serves to both heat and decorate the garden, and at £54.99 is a really affordable addition!

With children it’s always important to create a shaded area in our South facing garden, and a large parasol is a great way to do that. I love this overhanging parasol which can be moved where needed. With an adjustable steel pole and a polyester parasol, it is practical yet stylish and would be perfect for our garden.

Although we have an outdoor light in our garden, we really want solar lights to add a softer light to our patio in the evenings. These Gardenkraft solar lights come as a set of two, priced at £39.99 and at 60cm are a great size for providing the right amount of light to the garden. I love that they come with an on/off switch too!

Despite not being the most green fingered of people, we really want to add more flowers and greenery to our garden this year! Planters are a great way to do that and there Sankey Square Lazio Planters are perfect, as well as being super stylish!

Harry is obsessed with birds and although we have various bird feeders in the garden, he is desperate for us to have a bird box in the hope that the birds will set up home! I love this Gardman Beach Hut Nest Box and I know the children will too. At £14.99 it comes in both blue and cream and I think it would look lovely  in our garden!

Lastly, and Gaz’s main request for our garden, is the Landmann Rexon Burner Gas BBQ! When it comes to barbecuing, Gaz is definitely the Masterchef in our house (or at least I let him think so…) and this BBQ has everything we need – a large cooking area, side burner and easily removable grease tray for a simple clean up. A double lined hood and integrated thermometer ensure a perfect temperature throughout, whist the handy cabinet space offers extra storage. With a cooking area for you to 12 people it’s also perfect for entertaining!

We are offering one lucky winner the chance to win the La Hacienda Steel Chimenea simply by entering via the link below. Winner will be chosen at random and notified via email at close of competition on 26th August.

Loving the sofa! We live in our garden too during the warmer months and last year our best purchase was a huge outdoor table, and we had three families from the UK staying with us within a fortnight….sometimes we were 10 for meals, but it meant we could all eat outdoors happily and be nice and relaxed

  2. March 27, 2018 / 9:12 pm

We spend alot of time in the garden, starting from this month, but shade is the big thing for us in Portugal. We looked at the canopy type last year but we’ve just installed a larger one!

  3. March 28, 2018 / 8:40 am

We’d love a Chimenea, we’ve always like the idea of alfresco dinning and watching fire while eating and staying warm. Thats on our wish list this year! We’re going to try and make a teepee for the garden this year out of branches (like a den build), just need to collect some.

    • Laura Dove

Gorgeous chimenea, to have this in my garden would just be super closely I would love to sit by it while reading with a cuppa tea and a blanket, it looks so fancy too.

We have worked so hard on our garden this year and managed to tick off some of the items that were on my wish list. But, a chimnea and fire pit are still there unchecked. Lovely competition thanks so much for the opportunity 🙂 x

I’m growing loads more plants, herbs and saplings these days so lots of lovely pots are at the top of my wish list but I’ve wanted a chimenea for while too! 🙂
