Four Great Gadgets that Make Cooking Faster and Easier

This is a guest post by James Daniels, a freelance writer, business enthusiast, a bit of a tech buff, and an overall geek. He is also an avid reader, who can while away hours reading and knowing about the latest gadgets and tech, whilst offering views and opinions on these.

As a busy mum, you are probably always on the lookout for tricks and tips to make your household life easier. One room in the home where this may be especially true is your kitchen. Fortunately, if you find that you are spending more time than you would like preparing meals, there are a number of handy gadgets that can help you finish cooking quickly and easily. For example, check out the following ideas:

Drop Scale and Recipe App

Measuring and weighing numerous ingredients can quickly take the fun out of cooking. Thanks to the innovative Drop Scale and Recipe App combo you can easily and precisely measure a number of foods, while using the Drop Recipes app to prepare great meals. The Recipe App offers simple step-by-step instructions and also offers quick scaling and substitutions for the ingredients. For example, if you don’t have enough sugar on hand or run out of butter, the app will adjust the recipe. The wireless and heat-resistant scale is super precise and can weigh ingredients in grams or ounces. A button on the front lets you use the recipe app without having to get your bread crumb-covered fingers on your smartphone. Having said that, it is still a good idea to have a smartphone that can handle some flour getting spilled on it from time to time and some splashes with water, milk and other liquids. A sturdy smartphone that is ideal for use in the kitchen is the Samsung Galaxy S7 from a retailer like T-Mobile; its large amount of memory will run the Drop Recipe App smoothly and because it is water and dust resistant, it can handle the busy and occasionally messy work zone that is your kitchen with ease.

An Air Fryer

Your kids may adore chips and you may often have a hankering for onion rings or those crunchy and cheesy mozzarella sticks. Now, thanks to an air fryer, it is possible to enjoy these tasty foods without all of the guilt. The Philips Air Fryer from Amazon allows you to use 80 percent less fat than regular fryers to cook up crispy chips and other foods without the oil and calories. As a bonus, you can put your food of choice into the air fryer, lightly spray it with a bit of oil, turn the timer on and leave the device alone to do its thing — no more hovering over hot oil flipping chicken and getting grease spatters on you and your clothes.

Sous Vide Machine

Not only will a Sous Vide Machine make cooking more carefree, the name alone will make you feel like a fancy chef in a gourmet restaurant. For example, the Anova Sous Vide Precision Cooker, allows you to cook delicate foods like fish while you tend to side dishes and help your kids with homework. The device attaches to the pot of your choice — simply fill the pot with water, put your fish and other ingredients in a plastic bag or sealed glass jar, press start and then walk away. The Sous Vide machine will expertly prepare the fish or other foods so they come out perfectly, every time.

A Slow Cooker

While this is not a new gadget by any means, it is still a massive time saver and fabulous gadget to have on hand. Also called a Crock Pot, the slow cooker will let you start dinner in the morning — when you might have more energy. Available on Amazon UK or local department stores, slow cookers come in different sizes depending on how many people you have in your family, and they are often programmable. After a long day taking care of the kids and everything else on your to do list, there is nothing better than opening up the crock pot at dinner time and enjoying a steaming hot bowl of stew or soup.

I am certainly agree with you on having a slow cooker and how it can be a bonus especially with having a family. If we’ve been to the beach hut all day and come home hungry there is nothing like a delicious slow cooked meal to save the day. Elinor x
