Being More Productive At Home During COVID
We all know how hard this year has been not only from a health point of view, but with many aspects such as our jobs and our productivity. It can be difficult when spending so much time at home either working or on furlough to stay motivated and productive, and many of us have resorted to days in front of the TV watching Netflix
If you feel as if you want to be more useful this year at home, there are lots of way to spend your time. We have some ideas for simple jobs and chores you can do at home which will keep you busy and productive.
Decorate the house
The first simple way to stay productive at home is to use this time to decorate the space. If you are sick of the same four walls, why not spend your time updating the home in small ways as well as making bigger overall changes to the interior design? For example, a lick of paint on the walls is an easy way to change the look and feel of your room. Or perhaps you want to complete some important sealing of doors and windows and filling in of cracks in the walls. Doing DIY is a good way to spend your time and will make you feel much more productive.
Clear out clutter
Now is the perfect time to take a look at every room of the house and start to declutter. Over time many of us hoard items we don’t need and these clog up space and make the house feel untidy. Use a couple of days this week going through every room of your house and getting rid of things you don’t need. You’ll be surprised how much free space you’ll find and how much bigger the house will feel.
Cook batch meals
One useful way to use your time during this winter is to cook some batch meals to keep in the freezer. Batch meals can be a useful way to keep you on track with healthier eating and will save you money on cooking. You can make things such as pasta bake, stew, curry, chilli and more – and fill your freezer with meals perfect for the family this winter.
Take an online course
Online courses come in many shapes and forms – and there is a course out there for pretty much anything you want to learn. Whether you fancy taking a course to add to your list of professional skills or you want to learn a new skill for your personal life – this is a brilliant way to spend time. Take a look on Skillshare and find a course that suits you, and spend your time in lockdown learning something.
Update your documents
From your house insurance to your electric bills and your CV; there are a lot of documents you can spend time updating now you are home in lockdown. Use a device such as Practice Match to improve your CV for future job opportunities; switch over your bills to a new provider; and file everything in a safe place to keep track of important things.
There are lots of ways to be productive at home in lockdown, you just need to find them!
