5 ways to spruce up your bathroom!

As you all know, earlier this year we started our long awaited project of renovating both of our bathrooms. Five months later and things haven’t gone to plan and I can’t help but think that maybe we would have been better off (both financially and in terms of our stress levels!) to give our existing bathrooms a makeover instead! I didn’t realise but there are so many ways you can revamp an existing bathroom without it having to break the bank, and I thought I would share those with you!

Paint your tiles

If your bathroom is looking a little dated it can often be down to old fashioned tiles, I know ours was! And whist buying new tiles and paying a tiler can be costly, with the help of a low cost tile paint you can completely change the look of your bathroom.

An alternative to tile paint is to install PVC shower panels, which can provide a modern and stylish look to your bathroom. They are an excellent option to cover up dated and unappealing tiles while adding a sleek, waterproof, and easy-to-maintain surface to your shower area. Moreover, you may not have to break the bank to give your bathroom a fresh and modern look. They come in various colours, finishes, and styles, so you can choose the perfect one to match your bathroom decor.

Splurge on a feature piece

I have always loved the idea that, to change the feel of a room and add a little luxury to it, if you pick out just one splurge item you can achieve a high end look on a low end budget. Whether that’s choosing a free standing bath tub, a designer radiator, stylish accessories or a shiny new shower, it’s a great way to stretch the budget.

Switch up your lighting

Lighting is so important in a room and often a feature that is over looked. Changing your lighting to spot lights to add a modern feel, or a dramatic pendant light fitting to add a little bling, is a simple way to create the right ambience for your bathroom.

Add a pop of colour

Adding colour to a room is the perfect way to give a room a makeover without having to change any of the fixtures and fittings. Adding coloured towels and accessories can make a huge difference and the best part is that you aren’t tied in to a colour scheme you may tire of in the future. I love blush pinks and pale greys for a homely but stylish feel.

Change your flooring

Changing your flooring can be a really simple way to change the whole feel of your bathroom. I love real wood flooring and we have it throughout our entire downstairs living area. It’s so easy to keep clean, especially with kids and a dog, and with fluffy bath mats it’s perfect for the kids whilst still being non-slip.

Who knew it was so easy to switch up your bathroom? Now if only someone had shared that with me before we had both of ours ripped out….
