My Personalised Unicorn Adventure Book: Review & Giveaway

I doubt there’s a child in the land who doesn’t love unicorns, even at 39 I’m still a huge fan! My girls especially are unicorn crazy and it often feels like everything they own, wear, use and watch revolves around this latest obsession. That said, we don’t tend to have many books about unicorns, and certainly not personalised stories featuring the two of them, so when I was introduced to In The Book, an online book specialist creating personalised stories to capture a child’s attention, I just knew the girls were going to love them!

I decided to choose the My Personalised Unicorn Adventure Book telling the story of unicorns and adventure and, most importantly, featuring each of my girls in their very own personalised story.

The book was super easy to order with a step by step guide where you an add your child’s name, a personalised message from you to them, and even add a photo of your child to surprise them at the end. You can even choose whether you’d like the book in a soft back, hardback, or classic hardback featuring your child’s name embossed in gold on the front.

Our books arrived in no time at all and as soon as the girls saw their name on the front they literally squealed with delight! In gorgeous bright colours, with bold text for easy reading, Megan wasted no time at all in starting her story!

We loved that not only does the story revolve around the character of your child, but right throughout the book their name appears within the illustrations. For two rainbow babies such as mine, seeing their name shining brightly in the rainbow was so lovely!

I thought that the story was both engaging and age appropriate and as Megan read from one page to the next her eyes grew bigger or she laughed and smiled, and I knew instantly that it was a book she will continue to read over and over without ever growing bored.

The illustrations are beautiful and those all important unicorns were designed perfectly! My girls are very specific about what they look for in a unicorn and rainbow hair is a must!!

Despite reading the book from start to finish as soon as it arrived, we read the book again that night at bedtime and Megan made me promise we could read it again before school. “I’m going to tell my teacher I have a book about me!” she told us excitedly.

For me, my favourite part of the book is at the end where you can feature a photo of the children. The girls faces where a picture when they saw the photos, “How did they get there?!” they had asked, and I had told them it was magic! I know that in years to come, long after the girls stop believing in unicorns, I will leaf through these books and see those beautiful little faces and remember a time when our days were filled with these magical stories.

To win a personalised book from In The Book worth £19.99 you can simply enter via the link below. One winner will be chosen at random and notified via email at close of giveaway on 20th October. Good luck!
