It’s something of a weird thought that you can use jelly beans in ways other than simply setting out a bowl of them for guests when people drop by. Yet, there are a lot of things that can be done with jelly beans. You’re really only limited by your imagination when it comes to finding uses for them.  

You may simply have a lot of them leftover from Easter and wonder what you should do with them. Or, you could be inspired to go out and buy some so that you can use them for something creative. In this article, we will go over some of the fun ways that you can use jelly beans. 

1 – Decorate a cake 

We’re not grand bakers around here, but when we do decide to bake a cake, it is much easier to decorate one when the decorations are already made. If you’re looking for some baked goods for Mother’s Day, then you can find the flavor of jelly bean they love most and use that to decorate the cake, muffin, or whatever other items you choose.  

For instance, if your mother loves donuts then you can use donut-flavored jelly beans to really wow her. There are so many flavors and colors that you can really go wild and are only limited by your imagination as to which ones to use.

Not only do they taste fruity and bring back childhood memories while also giving you a nice alcohol buzz, but they also look dazzling.  

The trick is to make a few different kinds of syrups out of the jelly beans by melting them with a little bit of water. You can do this right before mixing the cocktail or you can make up several different syrups ahead of time to have ready to mix in with your favorite liquor. 

Try to match the flavor of the jelly beans with the type of cocktail. For instance, if you are using gin then lime-flavored jelly beans work well since gin and tonic with lime is very common.  

Virgin drinks can also be done effectively with jelly beans if you have kids that want to partake or you prefer to not drink alcohol.  

4 – Make jewelry 

I remember when I was a kid that one of my favorite candies was a necklace made out of Smarties. You could wear it as a fashion accessory and then snack on it when the whim struck.  

You can recreate the same type of jewelry yourself. This time with better candy and with far more color than those necklaces from so many years ago. They can be in many different forms, as well. Earrings are good but not as easy to eat from. If you are just looking for a conversation starter then earrings will work.  

For when you want to munch on some candy then a necklace or even bracelet can be made from them for easy snacking access. 

5 – Piñata filling 

The great thing about piñatas is that they can be filled with anything. When you have a lot of extra jelly beans from Easter then you can use those to fill one for a lot of fun at your next birthday party or event.
