6 Healthy and Balanced Snacks Your Kids Will Love

Finding wholesome snacks that your children will enjoy can be a monumental tasks for parents. We all want our little ones full and happy, but we also want to make sure that their bodies are nourished.

Here are some delicious and healthy snacks that will help you find the balance between both. Your little ones will love these and won’t even bat an eye at how nutritious their plates look.

Chocolate Coated Nut Mix

For kids that love to nibble, mixed nuts are a fabulous option. Nuts are a great source of protein, vitamins, and healthy fats which are imperative to their growth and cognitive development.

To make sure that their nutty snack isn’t too boring, throw in a handful or two of Jordan Almonds, which are coated in a delicious and colourful combination of chocolate and candy shell. The harmony of flavours and textures in this mix will be a treat to you and your children.

Fruit Kabobs

Get your kids excited about eating fruit by making the experience fun! Making fruit kabobs can be a family activity to get them involved and even more excited to sample their creations.

Cut up melons, grapes, strawberries, apples, pineapples, and any other fruits your kids would like and skewer them onto wooden sticks. Let your little ones create patterns with their fruit and dip them in yoghurt or chocolate when they’re finished!

Veggie Trays and Dips

Experiment with different vegetables by offering your kids a delicious veggie tray to snack on. Cut up some of their favourite veg, and then include some of their not-so-favourites too!

Mix up two or three different dips that you think they might like, and encourage them to try out a range of different combinations. If they don’t like the carrots and hummus, perhaps they will LOVE the carrots and ranch!

Whole Grain Crackers and Cheese

Cheese is usually one of the easier foods to get our kids to eat. If your little ones like a cheesy treat, then you’re halfway there!

Slice up some pieces of cheese (you can include a variety if you’d like) and pair them with some wholegrain crackers. The addition of the crackers will boost the fibre and healthy complex carbs in their snack, helping their digestion and hunger levels and introducing them to more healthy options.

Banana Bites with Nut Butter

Cut up some bananas into discs and coat each one with a small amount of nut butter, like peanut or almond butter. This makes a great combination of carbs and healthy fats for a perfect afternoon snack.

Make this snack even more exciting by dipping the banana bites in chocolate and then putting them in the freezer for an hour or two!

Popcorn Trail Mix

Finally, health-ify your movie nights by swapping your regular butter popcorn for something a little more nourishing.

Lightly salted air-popped popcorn is just as tasty, and you can mix this with a variety of nuts, dried fruit, and even some dark chocolate chips. These additions will make the snack more interesting and offer a wider variety of vitamins and nutrients.
