3 ways to create a feature wall
Creating a feature wall is a great way to change the whole feel of a room without having to make any huge physical changes or blow the budget. Often creating just one feature wall can transform a room in a few easy steps and I am going to share three simple ways you can do this.
1. Wallpaper
Wallpaper is a quick and easy way to create a feature wall and can be done relatively inexpensively depending on the size of your chosen wall. With an otherwise neutral decor you can experiment with bold prints and bright colours to really create a striking feature and the benefit of this is that should you change your mind in the future, the wall can be repapered quite easily to completely change the look again.
2. Wall Art
Wall art is a fantastic, non-permanent way to create a feature wall in your home. I am a huge fan of a gallery wall using a combination of framed prints to showcase your favourite art work, photographs or a combination of the two. The great thing about a feature wall is you can make it completely personal, creating a very uniform look with perfectly spaced pieces or more of an eclectic mix to give a more unique appearance.
I love using a combination of different frames, finishes and sizes to really change the feel of our feature walls and produce a real talking point for those who visit our home.
3. Mirrors
Using mirrors is a great way to create a feature wall whilst also expanding the overall feel of a room by adding in reflective surfaces. Cleverly positioned mirrors can make a room appear so much larger and can be used in the same way as a gallery wall or using just one larger mirror with a decorative frame. For an added effect you can use indoor lighting to decorate your frame to really add a focal piece.
So there you have it, three easy ways to create a gallery wall. Do you have one in your home?
