We have been huge fans of Playmobil for as far back as I can remember, I know Lewis at almost seventeen used to adore building his Playmobil as a child and we still have several of his original sets which the younger three play with daily. I love any toys which really challenge my children’s imagination and Playmobil does exactly that. From shopping malls to Italian villas, Spaceships to Treasure Islands, they literally have everything you need for acting out real life scenarios or fantasy tales, and we have had so much fun playing together over the years. I am going to be so sad the day when they finally outgrow these toys!

Recently Playmobil introduced the Playmobil City Zoo, retailing at £59.99 and coming with everything you could ever imagine to set up and create your very own zoo. At a time when the zoo has been off the cards, it’s been lovely to see the children acting out their zoo keeping skills, pretending to visit the zoo and drawing on their own memories of our days out there, and loving every minute of how realistic and lifelike the set is with so many incredible pieces.

The City Zoo contains 213 pieces including figures, giraffes, penguins, pelicans, an observation platform, feeding accessories, a cash register, telescope, a balloon stand, site app, postcards, donuts, shovels, pitchforks and even giraffe dung!

  77. Giraffes are my favourite animals, I love how they move so slowly and peacefully and how amazingly tall they are, imagine being that tall and being able to see all that beautiful scenery, also I think they look really cute but also very majestic x

  94. I do love the giraffes! They necks are so elegant and i always joke with the children in my after school club, that the reason giraffes have long necks, is because they cant stand the smell of their feet!

  96. I absolutely love all animals and I have really missed visiting our favourite zoo. One of my favourite zoo residents is Meerkat’s they are super cute and I love how one is always on watch duty! They are rather cheeky too.

  185. Gosh, that’s a hard choice, they are all so amazing in their own right. If I have to choose then I think it will have to be the Giraffe, they are such calming, graceful and majestic creatures to watch.

  206. My favourite zoo animal has to be a monkey. I was just telling my partner of some neighbours we knew when I was growing up who had a monkey as a pet, this was in the 1960s and before I was born. They kept it in their three bedroomed semi where it lived with all the family. Maybe this was the done thing then though I do wonder where on earth they came by a pet monkey (none of the family were zoo workers); I wish my mum was around so I could ask her.
